San Francisco's Pit Bull Law On Jan 18, 2006, a new California Law went into effect, allowing local governments to regulate the neutering, spaying and breeding of specific dog breeds. In the aftermath of a fatal mauling of 12-year-old Nicholas Faibish by his family's pit bull in June 2005, San Francisco's Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an ordinance that requires the neutering or spaying of pit bulls in San Francisco. On Feb 1, 2006 San Francisco announced that the pit bull and pit bull mix neutering and spaying law will be enforced. News Story 1 News Story 2 Last edited by hunniebunnie; 02-03-2006 at 04:04 AM.

Hmmm, that is very interesting. The Pit can be a dangerous animal when owned by an idiot! Maybe this law will cut back on some of the negative aspects of the breed. Sounds like they have left some leaway for those who stick to ethics with the dogs. You know what they say...1 bad apple spoils the whole bunch.

Pit bulls are completely outlawed in the county that I live in. Too many people were raising them to fight. I still see so many running around loose though. To be quite honest they have gotten such a bad name that I am scared to death of each and every one of them. I won't let the children out near them or my furbaby for that matter.. I know they are not all bad, but you never know which might be..
