Geocaching anyone?

oh sorry yes it is year round (although some in the colder states might not go out as much in the winter.) Oh and you can get a decent GPS for $100, i think my bf got one for $180, but you can use a GPS for more then just geocaching, it is great to use if you go on a hike somewhere you can mark where you started and then if you get lost it will show you how to get back!

I must say when my boyfriend first told me about this I was kinda not interested, but after going out our first time it was a lot of fun! It is such a good thing for families, especially those with kids, and also retired ones love this game!

Yep! We found one in the park right across the street from our condo! It was so neat .... on the back of a parkbench & if you weren't looking for it, there's no way you would ever suspect it was there!! It, of course, was just the little log book. We occasionally look to see if anyone else has logged. It is waaaay too cold here in Colorado right now but as soon as the temps are up ... we will be out there looking!!

GeoCaching encourages good family-oriented activity. Get the kiddies involved - away from the TV and out into the fresh air. They'll be exercising without even knowing it! We love it when we can go. Now, I'll have Abbie to share it with this Spring!

Hey, I talked to my boyfriend about this a few months back. I was thinking about buying him a GPS. Can you guys recommend one?

Well, the two most popular brands are Magellan and Garmin. We have a Garmin eTrex Legend. They have a whole line from the eTrex series (with the Legend being somewhere in the middle). Their basic eTrex (it's yellow) runs for around $80 last I knew. The Legend was about $130 and it came with a protective case and a cable to connect it to your computer. We bought it online from Amazon.com but they also carry a number of Garmin products at Target. Depending on how much you're wanting to spend you can certainly go up from here (we've seen them up in the $500+ range). But, for geocaching purposes, an eTrex is a great way to start.
