I’ve seen numerous places with a mask required and people still not wearing one. My gut feeling is all these non Masks wearing People are going to have to experience it first hand to finally start wearing one. Just a week or so back some dumb college kids had a coronavirus party. You really can’t fix stupid! |
And because you can't fix stupid this Pandemic will be with us for a very long time and thousands of ppl will die because of this. It's just pitiful. |
Our county in Florida has had a mask rule since April, but took out penalties and enforcement immediately due to public backlash. This last Monday the County Commissioners decided to mandate the mask compliance more stringently by issuing a one-time warning, then a fine ($25, then $50 for multiple infractions). There were call-in speakers at the virtual meeting stating that they would not comply, and berating the rule for "taking away their constitutional rights". It is disappointing to witness! |
We went thru this during the 1918 Spanish flu. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. |
Tonight's news reported many of the new virus cases have been young ppl, maybe this will send out a message to these kids. |

I wouldn’t want to be a parent deciding if I should send my child to school in a month |
Thank God we have television, phone and internet, food, mail service and know about mask-wearing, have gloves and handwashing techniques, enough soap, disinfectant. Can you imagine dealing with all of this prior to these things!!!!!!!!! Just the fact that I can press a button and invite the world, entertainment into my house and order a pizza delivered to my very door by a masked, gloved, incredibly nice person really helps. What good are fines and tickets to young, rebellious people who ignore them, don't intend to pay them and love taking the risk of driving around w/unpaid fines, etc., as a way of thumbing their nose at authority? Never did get why authority figures are so intimidating and horrid to so many but anyway.... Would break our system if we tried to process each of them for non-payment of a $50.00 or even $1500 in individual fines. Captainizing is right, younger, more rebellious among us will have to deal with this disease personally before it knocks some compliance into them. They are actually proud of going out w/out mask or gloves. Ah, well, hopefully, the rest of us, first responders, treatment facilities and economy are strong enough to get past them w/out too much damage. If ONLY everyone would've complied, we could have way, way fewer cases of this thing by now. |
So today I had to run a few errands and dashed in and out of several stores, sorta a grab and go. The 5 stores I dashed into there was one person in each store without a mask and, they have signs on the doors before you go in you must wear mask. Not one person that worked in these stores said anything to them and two were pharmacy's, needless to say they were college age ppl. When I got to each register I told the cashier they should have refused their purchase and told to put a mask on, what do I get? a shrug of the shoulders. What's the sense of posting signs if the stores do nothing about it. |
Same here Sigh |

It is frustrating for sure. But I think the managers should be doing the monitoring not the front line workers at Kroger, etc. |
I did go to my local Dollar General store and they wouldn’t let anyone in without a mask. It’s the only place I’ve been to in my small town. I will make sure to shop there for everything I can |
Don't even get me started on masks. I don't go out much, only when it's an absolutely must. My area is a big tourist town, you see license plates from all states. The bigger chain stores always have a lot of ppl in them, they say nothing if a person has no mask. The small privately owned shoppes that stands to lose money will not let you enter without a mask. Masks must be worn in any indoor spaces and any outdoor spaces where people are unable to follow social distancing. Law enforcement officers are authorized to issue warnings or citations. This is a law, thing is, my town is not a major city where there are foot patrol officers, state troupers are called when you dial 911, so there is no control in my county. |
And that’s why we keep having over 1000 people dying daily |

I’m disappointed in the Red Cross. Last two blood drives, there were more people then the Red Cross had bags for the blood |
Wow, that's really a shame. With this pandemic one would think many ppl would not be giving blood, only to find many did and had to be turned away for lack of bags. Mean time on TV they are asking for blood donors, go figure. |
I’m glad people are stepping up to help out |

Had to go to Rite Aid to get some of the things Walmart doesn't have in the large sizes or quantities I want or aren't in stock at all, with only a few offering to notify by email when item back in stock. Never lived with any shortages before. No complaints, of course, except for all those 'independent' characters out there who continue running around from place to place w/out masks, gloves and hand sanitizer and what they have helped create - a much harder Covid hit than we should had as a nation. |
I think it’s a can’t happen to me or, I can beat this if I get it attitude. |

We just rolled over 5 million cases Thursday that we know of |
I have a long time friend that was on a respirator, due to Covid, for two weeks. Very scary. However, they took her off of it yesterday... Hooray! She lives in one of those scary states with high percentages. |
We’ve been getting updates there have been several senior citizens getting the virus here. It’s nerve racking waiting to see if they survive this. |

I’ve been limiting myself to staying at home except for church and buying essential things from the store. The news doesn’t tell us who has it here and only contact is when you’ve been around someone who tests positive. It’s making it harder to want to leave the house these days |
Check your Riteaid pharmacy, they are giving free DIY kits to test yourself, you swab your throat and the inside nostrils if your nose with a Qtip. They show a video on how its done. You go to the drive thru window where they give you the kit, they tell you what to do, when you're finished you give back the kit with your sample in it, it doesn't say how long to get results, I am sure if you ask, they will tell you. |
I’m not even sure where a rite aid drug store is from where I live. |

Anybody else getting more than a little stir-crazy after having to go out to get badly needed supplies, facing rule-breaking shoppers everywhere so trying to avoid trips out? And if you go out, so many just come up right next to you despite health warnings to stay 6+ft. apart. Had to ask two people to move away from me yesterday so we could maintain 6 ft. separation when out running errands as they seemed oblivious to reasons not to stand, sit too close. Are most people out there mindless Zombies from Mars or just that frivolous with pandemic safety rules? Aisles at super market too narrow to maintain 2 way traffic at safe distance, are marked one way, didn't seem to stop anybody from entering the wrong way, thus getting too close and I kept back-tracking, moving away from them. Right now, it's way easier to just stay home than always dodging potential Covid carriers and so the stir-crazy begins to set in. |
