| Has anybody ever mentioned the money the spent on dinner on first date? Well I have this ex that I ran into the other day so we started talking again. He asked me out on a date, after he paid for dinner (I asked for an appetizer as my meal because I wasn't hungry, and 1 drink, even though he kept asking me if I wanted another one) I'm very grateful when someone pays for my dinner so I never try to order anything expensive. But after he paid, he kept looking at the bill, and then he turned around and told me "wow your margarita was $10 .... We ended up deciding to be friends very shortly after that first date for other reasons. But I can't stop thinking about him mentioning the price, when in the past he never complained. Anyways, should I give him cash so he doesn't feel like he spent money on me? Or is this me being prideful? Thanks!

| If that was me in your shoes, I would gave given him the 10 bucks just to show him I am not CHEAP and will pay for my own, but that is me, Italian and a Leo to boot lol. But on a side note, I am a bit "shocked" at how prices on things have sky rocketed. You know this guy, he could have just been making a comment. But me lol, I would have given him the 10 bucks, he should have kept the comment to himself.

| He asked YOU out, he should pay. He also asked if you wanted another drink several times by your account. He should have just kept it to himself. Don't even get me started about exes.

OMG!!! Amen!!! Dont even get me started either!!! I went out with a cardiovascular surgeon once that by his OWN account, bragged about the 42 page income tax returns he had to file every year because of all his money/income!!! He asked for a copy of the receipt at the end of the meal so he could use it to claim the meal as a tax deduction!!!!!! I was globsmacked!!! I smiled and told him I had certainly NEVER been referred to as a tax deduction.....if I had KNOWN that was going to be his big concern for the evening, I would have ordered enough food to feed my entire family, taken home in doggie bags....we were in a very exclusive dining event and while under normal circumstances I never asked for doggie bags in any public place, I certainly would have in this case! My family got the biggest kick out of this!! After all these years, they still laugh in certain circumstances and will call me "tax deduction" !!!! | |

| Hahaha well I learned my lesson about exes now ... History just keeps repeating itself. I should really listen to people who said "we were exes for a reason" He also has a high paying job. But he's really cheap.

| I understand completely!! That very same surgeon hand delivered to me, at work, a single red rose for Valentines day.....and I had some cowboy that I used to go out with because he was a GREAT dancer and had a small ranch with horses and cattle with adorable little calves and was a whole bunch of good, honest, clean fun to be with....that poor broke cowboy bought me a dozen roses and had them delivered to me at the hospital.....now you just KNOW which meant the most to me! |

| I've never had a date ever mention money! Shows a pennypinching attitude no male should ever reveal if he expects to find a woman to date.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wouldn't give him the $10...let him just sit with it, it's the only way he'll ever work through it at some point. What a nit picker though, ugh!
