Nothing surprises me anymore. Lol. TV is out of control. It will continue to get worse because we accept it as a society. It's sad really. And Judy if having good taste is old then I am right there with you!

I guess I'm older than old. I went to bed at 7:30 and arose at 7:30 am. Then I watched the Rose Parade from the start for the first time ever. All the crotch grabbing and butt tweerking - umm umm. How does one expect young people to ignore these antics and not emulate them?

I just watched the Rose Parade. Now watching Billy Idol opening for the Winter Classic. Old dude can still sing and rock it out!

Are you talking about the guys and girls in all white? You know what I found the most appalling? His singing and "dancing"! The girls I don't really even let bother me. We all know why they are there, we don't expect them to have any talent. But the main guy? Who does he think he is? He ain't no Usher, and I don't even like that guy.

I saw the Tony Bennet/Lady Gaga part. I don't get it. They were in NY? But they had two shows here in Vegas, last night and the night before. Logistically, how did they do it? Flying back and forth with only a 3 hr time difference and a 5 hour flight? Was it all prerecorded???

Another oldie here. I watched the 5 and 6 o'clock news then watched the Hallmark channel till I fell asleep around 10:30. Elvis, I would have watched but didnt see the listing. He was my favorite for so many years. So, tragic.

You are not old! We watched Dick Clarks (Ryans) Rockin New Years Eve and I was laughing at my Mother-in Law and my DH. They watched and complained the whole time about not understanding the words to the songs and of course the costumes. I love to see how different people dress when performing. Not that they really have taste & style but I think they are trying to be trend setters and sad to say that some of them are pretty successful at it.
As far as music I like it as long as I can dance to it. My husband just shakes his head at me because I know the words to most of the songs that were played last night. My brain & soul do not know how old I am. Anytime I get a chance to shake I will. Doesn't matter if it's Elvis or New Direction.
I can do without the crotch grabbing but having two brothers growing up I wonder if these guys on TV maybe have an itch they need to scratch? Anyway stay young no matter what kind of music you listen too!

Yeah, the guy all in white. He was a pretty bad dancer, wasn't he, kind of loping around - and I don't even remember a thing about his singing. As I remember, my parents were pretty scandalized with my generation's entertainers! But I do wonder what we will see from them in, say, 10 years from now. It's gotta stop short of more demonstrative self-touching or the actual "the act"......I hope. :rolleyes:

Maybe the Tony Bennett/Gaga part was pre-recorded before an earlier audience, like some of those NYE performances from L. A.?

Ok so now my 7 yr old nephew is singing that stupid song! His older brother was saying why they put that on at 9pm. And he said no one wants to know what you're going to do w butts, esp of fat people. Lmao. He's11.

What's sorta funny is just about a week ago the NFL fined Marshawn Lynch $11,000 for doing a split second, hard to see, mid air, crotch grab during a touchdown. This is the same Seahawk player that has been fined $100,000 for not talking to the media. That's right, for NOT opening his mouth and for NOT saying something stupid he was fined $50,000 last year and another $50,000 this year and $11,000 for grabbing his crotch momentarily in this weeks game. The NFL admires but hates this guy.

Well you are one of the lucky ones that went to bed. I agree how can we expect less from the teens, if we allow this for them to emulate. I sent an email to NBC, that was the only way I could think to let my feelings known.
