Thank you all so much for your ideas, which may not work for me now but will in the future, depending on what comes next in my tech trek. I don't really need a smart phone(screen way too small on even the largest made) or iPad all that much - maybe an iPad or tablet would be easier to surf the web but still I need a larger screen surface for now and plus - truth here - I don't want to go through setting one other technical product up, learning how to operate it and get it rolling! lol!
But I am hoping I will run into someone who uses a somewhat long-lasting battery powered UPS that works well overnight - so far we only had an overnight outage once in recent years - and isn't just junk to power their electric wifi router/modem and home phone line. That seems the simplest way to go for me right now but I just need to know a good product/model that is reliable and there for you when you need it.
I probably shouldn't have even looked them up online and read some of the comments from those seeking help on the online techie forums due to the wide variety of complaints and fear-mongering that goes in some of them about almost any product. Those guys don't seem to like anything 100%! From the two or three forum comments on Battery Powered UPS I read, you would think there wasn't one out there that really held up. I'll just keep asking around about what works for others who don't have smart phones/tablets. But I do thank all of you for all of your knowledge and help - you are all so far ahead of me!
