4 Attachment(s) Made this little tray from a piece of reclaimed hard-wood yesterday - I purposely mixed the metals bc that's the look I was going for on this piece. It was fun to make! Making another one from the rest of the wood today. |

As some of you may know, I have recently purchased a home. The closing will be next week and I'd like to figure some stuff out/done before we actually start moving in. There are no ceiling lights in 4 of the bedrooms. I'm looking into floor and wall lamps. I'll be using 1 room just to sleep in and keep my clothes. This room can be somewhat dim. The adjoining room will be my "woman-cave" where I'd have most of my "toys" to play with. So I'd like this room to be somewhat bright and be able to dim if wanted. I'd really appreciate any ideas you guys can throw at me. I've googled and what not but there's just too much. |
If the cave does not have ceiling lights just make sure to buy 3-way lamps. Or you can buy dimmers like this: https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/64...FUYTHwodtFkG3Q If they do have ceiling lights it is very easy to install a dimmer switch at the wall. I have put them in many rooms in our house. |

I bet some of you will laugh at this post... :p |
So a workroom then? I think you should do dimmable wall sconces. Wall sconces have the light at the right level. Canned lights can be not good if your ceilings are too low or high. |

3 Attachment(s) Ann Ann Aaaaaaaaaaann! (sorry... had 2 cups of coffee within 2 hrs...) It was my nephew's wedding this past weekend and they live out in the boonies. They were building a barn and almost finished. When I saw it, I thought of you for some reason. LOL All the wood you see are from their land that's been cut down to make space for the barn. I need ideas for shelving/storage for small 1/2 bath. It's.. narrow like a rectangle. I know what to do for shelving/cabinet by the toilet. I was thinking I'd put up some floating corner shelves for the sink area and this from IKEA for below the sink. RÖNNSKÄR Sink shelf - IKEA or http://improvements.scene7.com/is/image/Improvements/T_WithoutZoom?$PDPmain$&$src=Improvements/511659_alt4 (I'm pretty sure I can build the 2nd one...) What do you think???? |

Hi All, I miss being on YT and only get to check in every once in a while. My kitchen remodel is progressing, but slower than expected. At this point, everything has been removed right down to the studs, and we are dealing with tile, electrical, plumbing, etc.; my new teak cabinets are gorgeous, although they are sitting in my living room, new appliances are in my family room. Without a kitchen for 2 weeks has been like camping... I have the microwave, a toaster oven and BBQ, so we survive ok :) While waiting through many delays, my contractor helped me empty out 22 years of accumulated stuff in my garage, put up sheet rock, and put new white cabinets out there. Hard work, but amazing. If all goes well I will have my new kitchen about a week before Thanksgiving. Keeping fingers crossed as Monday they are drilling down through concrete to install 4 steel posts to hold up the large granite bar top.... and hope we don't hit unknown water or electrical lines. Biggest bonus of all...... the love relationship with my contractor/boyfriend has continued to grow, and we are soooo happy. Hey if we can survive remodeling together while living in this house, so early on...... that's a good sign that we can survive anything. |

Also so happy to hear of continued awesomeness with the hottie contractor :D! I had been wondering how that was going. And yup, if you 2 can survive *this*, anything is possible! |

Hi Sandy!! I am very happy to hear that you and your contractor bf are enjoying life together. I can't wait to see your teak cabinets and your finished kitchen. Your garage overhaul sounds fantastic too. Looking forward to photos! |

We get ppl stopping by from time to time asking for them or for some leftover materials (plywood, melamine, solid wood, etc) we don't use. We just give them for free. Bet you'd be able to score some nice stuff with your looks there... ;):p:D |
