LOL, both are drool worthy, my favorite wood, teak, matches the stairs and flooring upstairs and furniture I have been gathering for years. And the guy.... well he is a handsome hunk, but more importantly super sweet and we are amazed at how well we get along. Having fun, staying in the moment, and wow.... just wow.

Now that the planning phase is done, we just get to enjoy the relationship part for a couple months while cabinets are being built. We won't tear out the kitchen until just before cabinets arrive, probably early Sept.; so we get to enjoy a fun summer.

Boyfriend has 3 brothers actually, and they are all in Montana:D Ok then, when the kitchen is done if we are still speaking to each other, I'll ask him to build out the studio apt above the detached garage for guests, haha.

Summer is off to a fabulous start, plus lots of fun with daughter and granddaughter too. This is truly the best year I can remember in a long time.

I have a sudden urge to move to Montana. I'm picturing "Legends of the Fall" (Brad Pitt, Aidan Quinn, hot men on horseback) type scenery. :D

I always think too: given how much fun some people can be online, imagine how even more much fun they are in person! Humor is so much more fun in person :D.

So true. I just imagine having a beach party in my back yard with some of the delightful YT friends, with our pupsters of course, and we would already be joking about stuff we have shared here, and would already know about each others like and dislikes, etc.

The new guy is amazing. I became a widow after 36 yrs of marriage, and he divorced after a 37 year marriage, so we feel truly blessed to have found love again. It is much more than either of us thought was possible, in so many ways. Oh, and he being a contractor/kitchen designer isn't too shabby either :D. Bonus time, and life is soooo good.

Finished my table! Now what?

I finished my table, finally. Now I have to figure out what kind of chairs I want and I am either going to refinish my buffet to match (white distressed bottom with dark top) or do something completely different. What do you think? Does the buffet style fit my table or do I need something completely different? And, I am going to repaint my walls. Oh so much to do.

I finished my table, finally. Now I have to figure out what kind of chairs I want and I am either going to refinish my buffet to match (white distressed bottom with dark top) or do something completely different. What do you think? Does the buffet style fit my table or do I need something completely different? And, I am going to repaint my walls. Oh so much to do.

Shelly, it really came out beautifully! I think anything you decide to do with the buffet will fit perfectly...you have a great eye in what appeals to you and then create it! Very talented! :)

Our new home to be, in a village (pop 989) in the Lincolnshire Wolds. I hope I'm not tempting providence here, as a lot can go wrong buying property in the course of legal conveyance but here's a few pics. Keep your fingers crossed for us please, at 70, I don't want anything to go wrong...

Omg, we could :love:!! I'll be wearing my hair up, for sure - what w/ all the humidity. Heels, for sure some cute heels...bc...well why wouldn't we? MUST get a faux tan for Hawaii too! Otherwise, pale fish belly skin. I'll go with you for a mani.

Shelly, WOW!! You did a phenomenal job, girl! It looks just wonderful! Did you strip all those chairs? That must've been a major job. Also, did you make that galvanized steel starburst piece on your wall? Fun!

Oh, and on the buffet Shelly -- I totally think you can make it work! I can almost envision, though, different legs on the bottom...like a smaller, thinner post leg or something...for some reason?

Yes, it promotes the feeling of charm and privacy, the gardens are really wonderful and settled now after 46 years of development. My wife used to present a gardening program on TV and can't wait to be there.

Beautiful, Shelly! Great job, Love the wall decoration too. If you are going to repaint the walls, I would do that before deciding anything the buffet, which is beautiful too.

Count me in too! WE don't want to pressure Sandy, but I have been looking at dresses. ;):D Attending the wedding will be a perfect excuse to see her finished kitchen.

Thanks! No I didn't strip the chairs. That's where I draw the line. Lol, they are from my previous set. So now I am in the market for chairs. The starburst is actually a windmill head from an actual windmill. I love the windmills that dot our countryside, and I agree on the legs for the buffet. I think I could do that.
