Great price on those cute lamps! |
So, Pinterest just made me feel really inadequate . I came across this "monthly checklist" for home owners...you know, containing things that I should be doing to my house on a regular basis. Well apparently, I'm a MASSIVE FAIL. I've never even *thought* to clean my fridge's coils....!!! Hello? Am I the only one who doesn't know this stuff?? Homeowner annual checklist | House Stuff | Pinterest |

I have a job, I do not have time to do all that stuff nor do I even care about my refrigerator coils. |
I have just had the gutters cleaned, carpets shampooed, and replaced two shower curtains and the blinds in our daughter's bathroom. Over the last week or so we have moved a set of furniture to the third floor, vacuumed the carpet under all of the HEAVY furniture in our bedroom, washed (most) of the windows and powerwashed the deck AND cut the grass. Today I got to mop up a sweet drink that splattered all of the way across the garage floor--can't track it onto the clean carpet. I still have ugly stuff in the master bath shower:eek:, my pantry is a major accident waiting to happen, and I am missing several pillow cases-who ate/borrowed/lost those:confused:? Refrigerator coils? I am not looking that deeply for dirt! This is cutting into my pool time! Ignore Pinterest! (Isn't it fun though?);) |
I just spent the last two days restaining the deck and a long wood walkway off the deck. In addition to weeding, mowing, edging, and raking only a quarter of the yard. My arms are a little burned, I was bit by something on my leg ( spider? ), my nails are a mess, and the finally, an apparently ticked off bee flew straight into my face and stung me under the eye. If I look down I can see my cheek. But the deck looks nice....... |
Aww man! Sorry about the bug bite! I got a few small ones on our walk tonight, and didn't even go out after dark! Bugs just love me. :( We've been doing a lot inside the house. Decided to put in the laminate flooring ourselves. So far we stripped the carpet and linoleum, took off the base boards, and put down the underlayer. We also redid our banister. New newel post and handrail too. Put up crown molding and painted. Still not even close to being done with the room though. Got a few quotes for a stair company to do our banister and they told us about $1200. It only took about $100 worth of stuff from Lowe's for us to do it. :) |
Geez, that list is a real guilt maker. That, on top of my daily chores and maintenance is more than a full time job. I'm thinking I need a handy man here, just to keep up. |
Totally feeling less pinterest-inadequate now that others are saying that they too do not fret over their dang fridge coils. :p |
1 Attachment(s) I was grocery shopping Thursday and on my way home passed a second hand store, they always have a ton of junky things sitting outside. This vintage china cabinet cough my eye. So I went back to check it out. It was covered with surface scratches but otherwise in perfect condition. I found a recipe on Pinterest for an easy natural wood conditioner plus it covers scratches. (3/4 cup canola oil and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar) don't rub off just apply and let it soak in I have a lot of antique and vintage glassware and kitchen gadgets. It turned out perfect for my taste ....total spent $80.00  Attachment 401032 |

Honestly, I am not sure where my refrigerator coils are located. It it means pulling it out away from the wall that sucker will never be cleaned. |

Our refrigerator rolls easily. The stove is the thing I can't move. |
