Oh Janie, I'm so glad you are alright, it must have been a terrible scare. My son lives in Florida but not in the southern part that had 24 inches of rain. Hard to imagine 24 inches.

We have been spreading the word. In fact, we took the boys in the car to run errands the day before -- we never leave them alone in the car, but riding around with the sun blazing through the windows, even with the a/c was too hot. I need to buy the car window shades made for babies.

hehe...it did get a little hairy trying to get home before any hail or I had a wreck from being unable to see through the sideways rain and wind. Even great windshield wipers only do so much. And they were saying on radio a tornado was moving over SMU headed our way and Tibbe was home alone! Thankfully it didn't continue coming our way and then just went away!

I heard about Florida's awful flooding - I'd never known it could rain that much that quickly in the states!

You guys have some serious weather in DFW. Tornadoes scare the hell out of me. I remember when I was a kid and we had one in the area and went into the center of the house, closed the doors, and then felt all the air being sucked out of every room and into the hallway we were at, up through the attic. Thought I only had a few seconds left, but thankfully we only lost some roof tiles. Guy across the alley had a tree dropped into his porch, which crushed it.

It does get very tense here at times. I've lived here all my life but never had that close a call as you all - never had any damage done - knock on wood - I'll bet that was scary!

Wow, we're actually getting the first rain of the year right now (not counting the few episodes of drizzle we have had as rain).

It's 86 F. here in northeast OHio but with all the rain and humidity, it seems so much warmer. They say tomorrow will be 90.

Its hot here but it could be worse so Im not complaining. Then again it isnt July yet so we shall see. After that winter I promised myself I wouldnt complain about the heat
