Thanks for the confirmation and update!

Netflix has a series, Marco Polo, there's a few years worth of episodes. It has some of the same elements of GOT. Something to do till next year? ;)

IDK... around here, all of the video stores are gone. Robyn misses browsing the vids at Safeway, the vid sections in local grocery stores have also been removed. Hulu, Amazon, online streaming, others.. are all avenues to select what you want to watch and when.... oh.. you might try streamTV... it's free, I highly recommend using adblocker... and once you get a routine going for clicking out/closing the extra windows/tabs with ads... it's really not bad... your internet speed might be an issue... but it works just fine on this pretty old computer with XP I use. We also used to use the library for DVDs... ours is connected to a much larger lending system we can have vids and books brought in from other branches.

I haven't used amazon or google play to watch vids... looks like they may be an option... maybe check with friends nearby that have netflix?

Marco Polo is not bad when you've got no GoT to watch ;). It's quite slow though. At least there's two seasons right now :)

I'll have to check out Marco Polo.

I tried watching Outlander, but thought it was too slow. That is the one about the WWII British nurse who travels back in time.

I'll have to check out Marco Polo too.

I saw Outlander. I liked it, but it's no GoT, not even close. But interesting. The actor who plays Lord Edmure in GoT is the evil dude in Outlander and he's just amazing!!!

I think we just made it through Season 6 Ep 5, so we are getting close to the end. Another couple nights of double episodes and it will be over, right? Still can't believe I watched a series with so much violence and blood, but I just couldn't help myself :)

Anyone that thinks the world is more violent then it was thru out our history is wrong.
We've just made weapons that kill faster.

I found myself riveted to the battle of the bastards episode

If I can survive the drama, you can survive the violence! LOL ;) Half of the battles, or more, they show before the battle then jump to after the battle, soooo disappointing for me! LOL:rolleyes:

Yes - we're watching it and so far, so good! We like it. I can't figure out what the heck happened to that girl, my gosh! The cop characters are pretty interesting and I like that they're showing the good and bad side of them.

I agree, the Battle of the Bastards was incredible. One of only two extended battle sequences in a tv show or movie that I haven't fast-forwarded.

Although not as exciting, I also liked the Battle of the Blackwater (was that the name?) that Tyrion led against Stannis at King's Landing. I liked that Joffrey weasled out and Podrick saved Tyrion.

Going to be close to a year b4 GOT is back on again

Oh yes - love that battle too! Tyrion was such a hero, and Joffrey was such a coward.

Ooooo - I'm in for True Detective for sure! Do you know who is starring this time? I thought Vince Vaughn was just out of this world in the last one - it was so fantastic seeing him in a dark dramatic role.

I agree I liked the Battle of Bastards as well. Was so glad Snow was ok. Sucks his brother died. So Glad Ramsey is gone, and the dogs had a feast.

Lol, I'm the *exact* same way! I get choked up when yet another dire wolf is killed :(:(:( or a horse is hurt...but I can handle the human stuff. I know it probably sounds so weird to some people, but it's always been that way for me!

If a person didn't cry the first time they saw Old Yeller die, I just don't want to know that person. I am very pro capital punishment. I think it has to do with death of innocence.

Yes!!! It's the worst when the stupid people want to go to war and then the innocent loyal horses charge towards the opponents only to get slaughtered. Omg....I can't stand it. I actually feel pain when I see it. I think it has something to do with the fact that people ask for it. The animals are so innocent :(

Has always been the same for me too. Others who don't love animals think I'm really odd...

The direwolf deaths get to me the most too, especially the first one, Sansa's, when Cersei insists on having her executed just to save face for Joffrey.

The horses, remember the Mountain executing his horse when he lost the jousting contest? I gasped out loud.

The human deaths that got to me were Stannis' daughter burned at the stake, and the execution of some of the old Stark family friends, like the old maester. Last but not least, Hodor. Major sadness.

Oh Kristin, what a good memory!! Yes...those human deaths were all just as sad too. Hodor scene was heart wrenching. :( Hold the door... :( what a hero!

Yay.... I finally got through the final episode over the weekend, which was a nice distraction from watching and waiting for Tropical Storm Darby to hit Hawaii.

We watched all 6 seasons so fast, over about 6 weeks or so, so now I am reading some of the recap sites that explain what all happened.

For now I am just happy there are no more episodes to tempt me; I spent way too many evenings watching fighting.

On a way different note: did any of you watch Grace and Frankie on Netflix? Loved it, and look forward to seeing more of that kind of happy silly stuff.

Hi Sandy! I hope you did not get any of the high winds that the tropical storm brought. Happy to see that storm wasn't too bad overall.

I'm looking for a new series to watch, hopefully something more lighthearted. "Suits" started a new season, but I was disappointed with the first episode. I don't think that I will be watching anymore.

That's me!! I actually feel pain when I see stuff like this. Did you ever see that newer Western called "True Grit"...? If you did...omg, that horse scene w/ the knife? I literally burst into real tears, a full-on sob and started balling...we had to stop the movie. It broke my heart to think of that ever, ever happening for real; I just couldn't take it.

Yes - those deaths hurt a lot: the Stark's Maester, Jorey, the Princess, HODOR. The Giant bothered me too.

On another character note, I'm really loving the Wildling's leader Tormund Giantsbane - I feel like he is so loyal to Jon.

I have not been brave enough to watch True Grit, and now I know that I wouldn't be able to get through it.

I had a soft spot for the Giant too.

Jorey's death -- I was talking to the TV, "no, no, no!" Although it is just a TV show, my brain is always saying, "so much senseless killing, can't they work this out some other way?" :p
