Aren't the little pressure releases what we want? The big ones hit because of a big release in tectonic pressure. So ideally, we want a bunch of little ones. (under 4.0) Right? At least that's how I think about it.

Yes, that does make sense..... better than it just exploding into a huge one.

Yep. That's what they've been telling me since I was in elementary school. THE BIG ONE. Biggest so far was the north ridge quake.

They usually don't scare me either but after feeling 2 in one night and so close together kinda made me think.

OH lookie... We had one in northern CA last night. A 6.9

LA Times . I didn't feel it since it wasn't near me but we had one.

Oh you beat me to it. My Uncle lived in Pasadena and was on the operating table when they had a fairly big one near him.

Was this recently? I'm right next to Pasadena and I didn't feel anything. I don't know if I'm just immune to them now or what!

Well it was in northern CA. i think up by Sacramento so you probably wouldn't have felt it.

oh phew! I know I'm getting desensitized, but I don't want to be THAT desensitized. Was it the 94 Nothridge earthquake? I can't believe it's been 20 years since that earthquake. I was 8 years old when that happened.

I always wonder when the say relieving pressure...yes from that area but does it not then shift the pressure to another area? Northridge was a heck of a wake up call. I remember waking up in the dead of the night and being bounced around. I always keep an earthquake kit ready at home and in my car.

That must have been the Northridge one. 20 years ago was 1994, and I was about 14 or 15. That one was felt all over the southland.
