Prayers needed - abnormal mammogram I haven't been around much due to the Holidays. Had my yearly mammo on 12/22 (I'm 45). Yesterday they called and said the radiologist found an area of tissue not like the rest and that I need to go in on 1/11 for at least 1.5 hours of mammo & sonogram and will talk to a radiologist before leaving. I'm scared silly. My Sis in FL (54) found a lump in March, had a lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and they have said she is now cancer free. I'm in NM w/ basically no friends, DH is not supportive and have only DS19, DS16 and DD14. Closest family is my Sis in FL. This is NOT how I wanted to start the New year. Prayers appreciated. thanks |
Think positively- this will be taken care of and will just be a bad memory in a few months. You may need support in the coming months- leave the unsupportive DH in NM and spend some time with your sister in Florida. She knows what you're going through and will provide you with the necessary physical and emotional support. I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers down to New Mexico. |
So sorry to hear this .... but like has been suggested ... spend some supportive time with your sister if you can! At least talk on the phone often ... she has already been there, done that and I feel certain can share some positive feedback for you! God bless you and we will keep you in our prayers! |
I am so sorry to read this news...as others have said, it might be time to make some changes and spend time wit your sister who will be your best support. Tell DH to bug off and find positive thinking survivor-types to fill your life. I pray that your Oddity turns out to be an onl "football injury!" That is what I tell people when something is too hard to deal with at the time.. |
I'm so sorry to hear this. Keep your head high - you don't know anything yet. You just have to take what's thrown at you and make the best of it. Best of luck and keep us posted. |
So sorry to hear your news but am glad you shared and asked for prayer. I believe we give it to Him first and ask for strength no matter what the outcome. Know that the Lord loves and cares for you and KNOWS what you are going through...try to find peace and comfort in that. I would also spend time with your sister in Florida if possible as I'm sure she can encourage you since she has been through this before. Thanks for sharing here and hope you can find encouragement here as well! Hugs to you :) You are in my prayers. |
prayers going out to you. you will be ok, just think possitive ok...i will be thinking about you...we all are here for you... |
Don't panic yet! I was an x-ray and mammo tech for 20 years and this happens all of the time. They are only taking more pictures and the sono to EVALUATE it does not mean something is wrong. And when tissue is abnormal it does not mean cancer every time. Take things one at a time or you will make yourself crazy. Try to think positive. As for support, when you go back in ask the tech about any support groups if your news is bad. You will be amazed at how much you can gain from talking to other people going through the same thing as you. You are in my prayers, good luck. |

I will keep you in my prayers! I hope it is nothing serious! |
I'm really sorry to hear that. My mom just went through the same thing. She is now 100% ok. Catching it early is the key! And hopefully, it will be nothing! You're in my prayers... |
I am a 5 year survivor of cancer. PM me if you need to talk. Keep positive it is the best thing, even though it may be hard to do. |
Prayers being sent to NM speedy delivery. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that you get good news. I will watch for your update and will continue to pray! On the flip side there are many surviors out there so that's something to think about as well. We are rootin' for ya!! |
I will keep you im my prayers. I had a scare a few years ago and it turned ou6t is was what they called positioning of the Xrat. A new mammogram turned out fine. |
I'd love to go spend time with my DSis, but our insurance is here if it is needed, as are my babies. Mia would be totally distraught if I left her for more than a couple of days and Max is almost as bad. Not sure how I'd get them all the way to FL, or how they'd do. I truly, in my sane mind, believe that this is a fluke, but my imagination runs wild. When I had the original mammo done, my thought was that she didn't squeeze nearly as much as the tech where I had them done before. I'm hoping that that is the problem. I'm NOT small, and she certainly didn't get them very flat, not like others have. Meantime, I'm trying to keep positive and enjoy the pups, taking 1 day at a time. It's very hard, tho. |
