I'm so sorry to hear about this...Before you freak out, wait to see what the doc says. My grandmother had breast cancer 30 something years ago...they did surger and she has been great ever since! We'll be sending positive thoughts your way, and we'll be praying for you. |
Letter from imaging place I just got a letter from the imaging center dated 12/30 - mammo was 12/22 it says: "your recent mammogram shows an area of asymmetry (and/or calcifications) requiring additional evaluation. Occasionally, this may only require your prior mammograms for comparison. Additional evaluation may include any one of the following: Additional Mammogram Views, Ultrasound, MRI, Galactogram, or a Cyst Aspiration.: When I went in on 12/22, I signed a paper for them to get my prior mammos, but with the Holiday, I can't imagine they even had them by the time of this letter. I'm not sure of what this really means, but I'm an absolute wreck at present. According to my DD I'm the Queen of Pessimism, and she's not far from wrong. The scenarios that float thru my head are sometimes absolutely terrifying. Thanks for all your support & prayers. I truly need and appreciate them. Poor Mia just doesn't understand my mood and keeps trying to cheer me up. Max is just clingy. |
Hang in there and try not to panic. I've also had to go back for more pix once and they found nothing. Keep us posted on what you find out. My prayers are with you. |
Try to stay calm. Quote:
When are you going in for the evaluation? I want to be thinking about you and sending positive thoughts your way that day! :D |
I go in Wed Morning 10 a.m. MST. Should take about an hour and a half. I'm trying to stay positive, unfortunately PMS is NOT helping my sleep or my imagination. You guys are the greatest!! |
GOOD LUCK !!!!! Your mind must be going crazy but try to think POSITIVE !! Many times it's just nothing ....hang in there ok ? |
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I went through this two years ago when I had a younger Radiologist read my films. He pulled seven previous years and saw the same shadows on both breasts but larger, that no one had ever mentioned. I changed to another Radiologist at a Hospital for another mammography and sonogram taking all 8 years of flims with me. I had a biopsy on my left breast. It was scar tissue. The right breast had a needle aspiration and it was a benign cyst. I had a recall mammography and sonogram every 6 months and was discharged from the breast specialist with a yearly exam for the past year. I passed with flying colors last month but only after I was recalled to have another group of pictures done on the left breast. The tech hadn't done the first films large enough for the Radiologist. I know what you are going through and pulling for you. Jessica |
Stay optomistic, I will send prayers your way. |
Tomorrow morning can't get here soon enough. Today has been ROUGH! I'm simply terrified. I first thought 'no lump' that's a good sign, but the more I read on the net, the more I read on the net, the worse I feel about it. I'll let you know tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers appreciated. |
Hang in there !! Things are usually worse in our heads....I wish you the very best luck tommorrow and truly hope you hear good news ! |
Try to think positive. We always think of the worst, don't we? It's just our nature. God bless you! Good luck tomorrow. |
You are going to be OK If indeed they do find something that needs to be treated, then you will get treated and you will be fine. BC is completely curable if detected early. Please try to stay calm. Use soft music, meditation, take a nice bubble bath, have a glass of wine, (or whatever else may be your calm-beverage or whatever :D ), get someone to give you a massage, breathe deeply, and try try try not to worry. Please post as soon as you can after your visit tomorrow. I am watching to see how things turn out, and will send strong and positive energy your way tomorrow! THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS!! :D HUGS!!! |
God's in His heaven, all's right with the world! 8 mammo pics later, 2 15 min ultrasounds and the radiologist says what he saw was due to lack of compression. Said there is 'nothing remotely abnormal'. I will still keep my appt next Wed at the specialist as my Gyn wanted me to go anyway, and it will be more peace of mind. Thanks for being there and for all your thoughts & prayers. Love you bunches! |
