I have an alarm. Three drugged up guys kicked in my door - alarm going and all. Got away with a bunch of stuff before police arrived. Fortunately Cali was not home-she was at work with me as she always is. I have a couple guns in my house so if I had been home we would have had an INCIDENT

I come from a long line of Montana ranchers who had to put meat in the the larder for the winter so my take on guns is probably more pioneer orientated. That being said if civil unrest or invasion occurred I would defend myself and my Yorkie

Well, I'm glad for both you and Cali that you DID NOT have an incicdent. I wouldn't hesitate to defend my family - skin and fur - with deadly force if necessary. We target shoot, and I still have my service revolver from my "cop" days.

You were a cop?! I have learned something new about you.

Jay, I am glad too that you didn't have an incident.

I was staying at a house alone when someone tried to break in. The police couldn't find the house because it was in a cookie cutter townhouse subdivision where everything looked alike. I barricaded myself in the bathroom with the fireplace poker while trying to give directions to the police on the phone. Very scary night.

There was a little levity in it when a plain clothes officer who looked exactly like Danny Glover showed up with a big silver "Dirty Harry" type gun drawn. He and the other officers scared off the intruder. I was in my jammies with tears running through the Clearasil on my face.

We have only ever had shotguns that we inherited from granddad. We gave his fancy pistols away to friends who are collectors.
