Just looked, guess they were a little off for us today. Hope they are off for what they are predicting for tomorrow and Thursday.

A foot of snow here is almost considered nothing. :D LOL Ive seen 2 inches completely close roads here, but a foot do nothing more than slow things down. At least with a foot of snow, we have traction for cars. Ive driven 45 miles to work and home in a foot of snow many many times. It does kind of stink though! Not something I want to do often!
This winter has been a hard one. Its more the cold than the snow. We haven't had any new snow in weeks.... but the cold is just keeping all the old snow around. Its not even pretty! Just ugly black snow banks everywhere! I think Mass is getting WAY more snow than NH this year! 2 weeks ago we were supposed to get 8 inches... MA got hammered, but it never reached to NH at all, we got nothing! That was kind of funny!

Im a contractor so if I take a day off, it's unpaid, but tomorrow might be a unpaid day off for me... I may just lay on the couch and watch HGTV all day! LOL

Temp not so bad 25 but freezing rain with a prediction of zero tomorrow.

LOL !!! good one -This is all just too much - We even had snow in the deep south! The whole city shut down for 3 days! Literally shut down..

Just found out Dallas area is forecast to get 1" of snow tomorrow and it's going down to the teens tonight and I think tomorrow night. We have 3 days until a warm-up to 50 is due. Brrr but unless I have to drive in it, I love Texas cold weather. Thing is, I have to drive right in the middle of the snow tomorrow for an appt. but if a lot of accidents start to happen, I'm rescheduling and staying home. Scared to death to drive on slick streets.

Well you LIVE in it - we don't - it landed ..looked pretty....caused tons of accidents and cars literally lining the streets abandoned but, other than that - it is over and gone....:( I kinda liked it but didn't have to travel

It started snowing the day we were talking Joan - It was BEAUTIFUL for 3 days and now gone....but we did have a pipe burst in the outside laundry - what a mess!:(

Ch.5 in D/FW has been on live covering our 1" of snow and freezing weather for quite a while, cutting in on the Today show and Ch. 8 is on live covering the weather event also. It's amazing how a little snow is a big story here in Texas and is covered as a breaking live event! Lots of accidents on the roads though and traffic is a bit of a mess but since it's 16 degrees with another band of snow yet to come, I guess it's going to get worse, staying very cold all day and tonight so it is a story. A Winter Weather Advisory for most of the North Texas area has been issued until 2:00 p.m. so I've R/S'd my appt. today. Not driving today! Just told Tibbe it's "Buddy Day" - meaning I'm staying home all day so he's doing the Yorkie Dance. He loves the snow, just watches it and looks at me with big eyes but he's yet to go out in it.

Our local weather forecasters love being on live TV here in our area!

I've been home sick for the last 2 days...feeling miserable. Temp is 2 degrees today...the snow we got Tuesday night isn't going anywhere any time soon. Just keeps piling up...we have mountains of snow every where you look. I'm tired of being sick and winter is exhausting me...

Sorry you are feeling so bad. Maybe by the weekend, you'll be better and surely this winter has got to let go soon. Can't just keep this up, can it?

It's really snowing now, heavy, big flakes at a hard rate and the yard and roads already covered. I'm thinking we're getting more like 2" of snow. Temp just 20 degrees at just after 1:00 pm.

Haha. Your red bolded part about the weather forecasters! Do you get Pete Delkas on Ch. 8 in the D/FW area when a bad storm or tornado is coming? He can't wait to jump on live TV and scare the pants off us all afternoon and evening telling us how awful it's going to be - makes me think the storm is headed right for me!

Of course I get Ch 8. My favorite station is Ch 8 , then Ch. 5 for weather issues. I do live in the Mid Cities area (Hurst, Euless, Bedford ) which is just behind DFW Airport.

Yep Pete can be real scary at times. Actually Ch 8 is one now at 3PM, I guess they are early today. LOL

So sorry to hear this Kathy, it is exhausting and I just hate to leave the house anymore and I feel like a hermit. Tomorrow I shop no matter what the temperature. My daughter wants to come in to do my shopping but I don't want her to, when I am so close. The fresh air will be good for me as long as I cover my face with a scarf.

You take care, I may be an optimist but I do believe it has to let up soon.

That's our Pete. I figured he'd be on live on a weather special if he got the chance! Too bad it's not something really scary - that's when Pete's at his best! His eyes seem to get big and he almost rubs his hands together! lol. I guess he's not quite as bad as I make him sound but he sure gets into it and scares me silly when a tornado warning has been issued for the area!

Ch. 8 is my favorite channel too and always has been and I also mostly rely on David Finfrock for my weather. He's not quite the alarmist that ol' Pete is during bad weather. ;)

I went to check and it was you posting on Dawn's thread that she had 10" of snow. Now that's better. :D We're used to it and need it in my part of Ohio.

I was going to say, I sure hope Atlanta is listening to the weather....they are in for something they have said is going to be worse than what they had with the last disasterous ice/snow storm....the powers that be are telling people to stay home....do NOT get out on the roads.....hopefully, they are hearing this and will not end up in the same dangerous, unbelievable mess they had a week or so ago!!!

In NC here - they are predicting some snow here the next few days! I plan to stay in so I don't clog the roads since we southerners can't drive in snow. We don't get much here, so any snow is always exciting.

I heard they have already cancelled school in the area for the next two days and already declared a state of emergency in 11 counties or something like that, told everyone to stay off the roads for two days. Sounds like they don't intend to get caught sleeping on this one. Already heard one reporter asking if this was going to be considered an overreaction!
