Are you staying warm Ohio: Tomorrow and Tuesday should hit record lows. They are saying some areas here may have wind chills as low as 20-35 degrees below zero. Check in and let us know how thing are going State by State. Hope the utilities hold out. |
Northern Iowa is expected to have a wind chill of -30 to -50 below! They have called off schools in the surrounding area as 4 mins. outside will cause frost bite! I pray all stay safe and warm, especially keep those pets protected from the extreme cold! |
We are on the shore of Lk Michigan at Muskegon, MI. The lake is still open here so it's keeping us a little warmer than inland. We are on the northern edge of the storm and have not had as much snow as south and east of us. Schools are closed for at least Monday some for Tuesday also because of the snow and wind chill warnings. Stay warm everyone... |
Im in northern Illinois. It's been snowing most of the day and now temps are falling. They're talking 45 below wind chills. |
So it is suppose to rain and freeze here. . . . I hope not |
Minnesota here! Currently a low of -31 (with windchill factored in.) On Friday our governor cancelled school statewide for tomorrow. Yeah, it's cold here. |
Son is in Kansas. Just flew home from Oregon. Went from 40 degrees here to about 7 degrees. Brrrrrr! |
here in Montana it is going to get to 30 below for the next couple of nights |
SE MI here. 8-18 inches of snow by morning (looking like it will be the higher end). Not really cold now. It's in the 20's. Dogs hate though. Tomorrow night through Wednesday morning we are expecting a low of -9 with windchills of -30 - -40. Most or all schools are closing and the state government will be shut down tomorrow. |
And here I am whining because it is going to be in the low 20's here. I want summer back. Give me the HEAT! :) |
Ohio here again, my son is in Florida and they expect 30-35 where he is. Florida people do not do well in cold weather. Keep all our doggies warm. Anyone from Minnesota, I hear they are having it rough? |
North Georgia-55 degrees last night when I went to work, 21 degrees now, record low of 5 predicted for tonight (Previous record was 9). The forecast snow ended up just flurries, so my plan to be stuck at work for 3 days was, thank goodness, unneeded. (I was going into Huey withdrawal just thinking about it) Made it home fine this am, no precip predicted today, so should be fine tonight, if I can get my car door open... it was frozen shut this am! |
College Station, TX: 21 degrees!!!! Eeeeeek, I was so cold when k woke up...we had the heat off and the dogs were so cold they managed to get under the comforter buried deep, almost burrowed under my legs. Poor things. We're not used to this. I used to play outside in snow I'm the negatives when I lived in Ohio. I think one time it was like -16. |
Ok, so much for no more precip today. It's snowing again. :( And it's down to 18 degrees since my last post... |
Ohio here too....We have so much snow we are now living in an igloo. |
Central Illinois here - we got hit with about 8" of snow yesterday and 35 mpg winds. Everything is closed but thankfully we still have power. It's still blowing but at least the sun is shinning and it has quit snowing this morning. I feel sorry for the homeless and any animal that is outside in this weather. High of minus 10 today with windchill of minus 35. |
Karen, it sounds like your temps are much like ours in Ohio Humans and Dogs can get frost bite in a matter of minutes. If you have to go out they say when you do come in to take off any wet clothes immediately and do not rub an area you might think has frost bite. |
Okay, here is a space to hate me for a little bit for what I am about to say *______*. I'll be staying warm because the high is SEVENTY TWO here today!! WOOT! Double woot!! Sorry 'bout that. But please, our summers are so miserable here, that I have to outwardly celebrate this time of year. :) To all those in the freeze, though, please stay safe and stay warm! |
Arizona Here I Come!!!:D |

Ohio . . and already feeling the wrath of mother nature, and boy is she cruel !! :( Current temp is -9 wind chill -38 and dropping. Lost power once already and I was about to freak out!!! I was out at 9pm last night and ran the snow thrower. I knew that if I waited it would be ALL ice. Kids are off school and of course my husband had to go to work . . and I am like Really, wtf ? But its his job and he has to. Who cares about the weather alert and the -38 below artic weather and the hazardous road conditions anyways.... Jut pisses me off... STAY WARM AND SAFE ! :rain: AND DREAM OF SUNNY BRIGHTER DAYS! |
Ok, in all my life I've never seen this. Friday evening here was 0 with a windchill of -15 (that I've seen) but there was frost on the INSIDE of my car windows. I mean actual ice webbing on the inside. That Ive never seen before. When I got home I parked in the garage, the temp that night went to -10 with a windchill of -25. (that is really rare for around here) and the snow on my car just stayed right where it was. Last week was RIDICULOUS here for sure. Today its 55, raining... but it's supposed to plummet to 12 tomorrow, so Im guessing there is going to be a lot of ice around tomorrow! UGH where is May? April? I hate winter **SIGH** |

CNN just said that it's colder in Atlanta Georgia than in Anchorage Alaska right now. Just to keep you up on Ohio, we just hit zero, tonight should be a humdinger. |
