Ok Ann (Wylie's Mom), I was afraid to comment about my weather, but since you did.... it's ok if they hate me too.

We had a high of 82 today and expect a low of 65. I've seen as low as 40 below in northern Nevada many years ago, and as high as 128 in Lake Havasu, Arizona...... so I've had the extremes and will just stay here in paradise.

Hope everybody stays safe and warm and that there are no doggies outside anywhere.

We have just hit a record low of 6ºF with a wind chill of -9º. I'm about to go try and crank my car again so I can get home from work in the morning. It cranked at midnight, but it didn't want to. (I drive a southern Honda :D) The one good thing is I parked on a hill, so if it won't crank, I'll just push it off and pop the clutch...it will be like college again when I drove for a whole year without a starter! :yelrotflm

MauiGirl, I still think Hawaii is paradise. ( a little bit of envy smile)

Sure hope your Southern Honda:D held up last night and you are alright.

Ohio here: When I went to bed it was 13 below with little wind but as of this morning it is 10 below with 17 mph winds.

My southern honda :D and I made it home great this morning, unlike a coworker who's southern jeep:D made a loud snap and quit, stranding her at 4am on a deserted road in a state park with a boyfriend driving a diesel without an engine heater that would only go18 mph, coming from 40 miles away to get her. By the time we convinced her to call 911, her hands were blue...we southerners are not used to this, but I love the cold!!!! (My car doesn't, but I do...):cold smil:snow::snowflake:

Its 10 here... with a windchill of -8. I hate winter! Today is supposed to reach 14 degrees with a windchill of -3. Seriously! :( Its sunny though! My mom got stranded half way here yesterday in Atlanta, GA, when basically the whole East Coast shut down flights. It was 5 there with a windchill of -10 I think. Not often that GA is colder than NH!

Heat is working well. Our upstairs is coooooood though. Guess it's time to get out of bed.:rolleyes:

It's 47 here and I am freezing my ars off. I feel for you guys in below 0 temps! omg I don't think I could hang in that!

School was cancelled for our kids again today. It wasn't a statewide governor's decree this time, it was left up to each of the districts. Our district rarely closes for anything but they chose, "for the safety of the children" to close again today. Currently, at my house, it is -9 with a "feels like" temp of -15. But it's been warming up! =D

Ohio here again.:)

I live in a really nice apartment building that never has any problems but 29 of the 40 apartments have no heat. I have heat and the people on my floor without heat are here staying warm and reading this thread. :) Many had a southern:D car before they moved to Ohio. lol

I know they are like Chicago, they have only closed once that I can remember and that was a couple years ago.

I guess if the school closed every time there was cold or lots of snow in Minnesota they would never be open.

So hope people are taking care of their dogs.

Or if you don't live on a hill, you can always call on your brother and two of his teenage friends like I had to do on several occasions growing up driving my four door Chevy Chevette. :D

DH had to work again... he worked yesterday until they finally decided to close at PM. Kids home form school again today, even our trash company has canceled two day in a row now. So, thankful for our local news program that list all delays and cancelations.

I feel darn luck to be here. On the Today show they said Hawaii is the ONLY state without freezing temps today.
