| Any recommendation for a day trip in Philly!? I am going to Philly in a couple days to meet my best friend whom I haven't met for over 6 years. She is in mid-50 and a nun in New Mexico. We went to ESL school together about 9 years ago. She is coming to East Coast for conference, so I decided to go to Philly with my boyfriend to meet her!! Woohooo! I am so excited. I always have kept contact with her wherever she moved to. I just cannot wait to see her and we would like to take her somewhere very nice. Since it is a bit freezing cold out, I don't know where we can take her.. I have been to Philly before.. but very difficult to decide. We will be spending all afternoon with her. Any suggestion? p.s. I am trying to contact Sylvan to meet her too since I will be staying in NJ for a couple days.. but she doesn't seem to be around.... I hope I can meet her also during this trip.

| I used to live in Atlantic City, and we would do trips to Philly pretty often. There is lots of American history there if you like that sort of thing. Independence Hall, the homes of Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross - that sort of thing. Lots of historical markers that you can read while walking around the historic district. Probably too cold for that, though. You can also visit the mint there and watch them make money, which is kinda cool. Its indoors. We also like to go to South Street where there are lots of restaurants, bars and interesting shops. Don't know if you want to take a nun there though. Do you have AAA? If you go on their website, you can search and narrow down by your interests. They also list hours, admission fees, etc. Have fun!!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm really into history and all that, so Philly is like a big giant play ground to me lol. There's Independance Hall, Ben Franklin's house, you could take a horse and buggy ride around the city, you can go to the Mint to see how they make money (really cool actually), you can visit Franklin's grave. I'm not sure if its open to the public or just groups but you can go in Betsy Ross's house. That was a lot of fun! hmmm, there's lots of stuff to do!

| Thank you all for the response. We went to Constitution Center. It was pretty cool to learn about Ben Franklin and American History. We had Malaysian food for lunch and Indian food for dinner. We also went to Reading Terminal Market. It was a lot of fun. So thanks again. Michiko
