| Does anyone remember party line phone numbers. Two families would have the same number and when you picked up the phone and someone was talking there was no way to know when they finished. A good many just listened until they finished

| OMG I must be OLD I remember all these things Do you remember when 2 full breeds mated, had pups, they were call mutts NOT designer dogs. Do you remember when a HOE (HO) was a garden and not a woman of the streets Do you remember when you bought a "2nd hand car or a "used car" now it's called "a preowned car. Do you remember when gas was .25 cents and a SET price that did not change day to day. | Lol!! We ought to do a whole new thread just on crazy old time sayings. I blurt out something to my grand kids and I suddenly turn into MY grandma and they look at me like I'm an alien...lol Then sometimes I just accidentally turn my words around. One day my grandson and I was getting ready to leave the house and to have him help a little I asked him if he would go and " shut and front the lock door" he looked at me like "whaaaat?!" I quickly realized what I had said and instead of back tracking and making it right , shut and lock the front door, I just repeated myself " would you go and shut and front the lock door?!" Can't you understand English !? And we both just died laughing.....that was 3 years ago and he hasn't let me forget it .... |
