The Walking Dead season premiere tomorrow...anyone else?

LOVED loved loved this season's premiere - holy heck! We were just glued to the TV the entire time, on pins and needles. I just *knew* that somehow, someday Carol was going to save the day - and she did. Yay Carol! Love her. Ha ha, Commando Carol! I've got to say, I loved the part about her smearing herself up with zombie blood, safety first! Then she was able to somehow wash most of the crap off her before she reunited with the others. Carol's character has really grown so much, it wonderful to see.

I think the guy running it, although he was shot is still alive. He knows that they want to get to Washington, so I'm sure he'll come for revenge. I can take the zombies, I just can't take humans being that cruel. At that point, shouldn't we all become vegetarians?

On a side note, I watched the TV series Utopia last week, one of the characters, Bri, who is a veterinary aide and animal rights activist, said that eat someone if she were hungry enough, another member Bella said she also would eat someone, but they had to be a vegan and not on drugs. I was just dumbfounded and it sure made the Walking Dead premise more real.

I agree -- I too think the ring leader creeper dude is still alive and there is going to be more of him. He's going to be one of those dual characters, I think, who despite how diabolical he is...he will still have some "likable" traits and this will annoy but be interesting.

I am still creeped/jeebed out by the 'doctor' or scientist who supposedly has the cure. Something is just off there...yes? Something is weird. And also, why is everyone just taking his word that he has "the cure", without really questioning much?

Also, WHERE IS BETH? Cannot wait to get her update. Are we missing anyone else?

Nancy, that is so creepy! It does remind me, though, of the movie and book "Alive" -- did you see it or read it? It's so good (both book and movie). It was a true story about that Uruguayan soccer team that crashed in the Andes mountains and were left for dead -- and they ended up having to eat the dead in order to live. I cannot even imagine.

Yes, the way they wrote the scientist part is interesting. He doesn't exactly instill confidence, I never know if I can believe a word he says, but at least he's giving them some type of hope and a purpose, and saving his own ass in the meantime, not a dumb ploy. I don't see how he could find a cure though, unless they want the series to end, and this thing could go on for years.

If you watch this Youtube, at the very end, you'll see Beth and she's in some type of hospital/prison where it looks like they are experimenting., something about sacrificing for the greater good.

Cried when Daryl and Carol reunited! I absolutely adore his character. Not just his good looks..he has had such interesting character developement. Carol to me is the embodiment of a survivor. Love her. Missing Beth. Missing Hershel. Happy with episode 1.

On the Alive thing - they ate the people who died either from the crash or after the crash...they didn't kill anyone, thankfully.

Such a great season premier... I love that Carol saved them "Rambo" style and she went about it in such an awesome way. I was sort of hoping that they would take out the entire group and take over the camp as their own and make a real sanctuary !!


I Love how they are all back together sadly with the exception of Beth. I counted 15 total. Plus in don't know why they think that getting this kid to Washington is se important. I wasn't one bit impressed with his rambling on about how important he is to ending the outbreak. I think he just want his own protection brigade cuz he's such a whoos .

I got the feeling the scientist was uneasy talking about this because he may have been one of the original scientists who while creating viruses as weapons created this walking dead virus.

When they were in the train car making weapons, they asked him, "what's the cure", he said:

"I was part of a 10-person team at the human genome project that weaponized diseases to fight weaponized diseases. Pathogenic microorganisms with pathogenic microorganisms. Fire with fire. Interdepartmental drinks were had, relationships made, information shared. I am keenly aware of all the details behind failsafe delivery systems to kill every living person on this planet,"

So, if he did indeed weaponize disease, this could have come out of that. Apparently, in the comic version, the scientist is lying, however, the writers say that they will be using the comic and some things will be the same and some different.
