Wow! The Club is growing! Welcome, Kara and Joy1! And Chachi, get your hubby to check this thread! I really don't know anything about "the Zone". And again, this is not a diet, it's alifestyle! It's all about your choices. It's a matter of eating what is healthy, and not eating what is not healthy. My first name is Glad. No, really! :D And I am certainly glad to be here! |
What a great idea!!!! I started weight watchers right before Thankgiving--mainly because I didn't want to gain anything over the Holiday! And I haven't!!! Yayay!!! I am actually down 10 lbs since November18th!! And my goal is another 15-20!!!!! It will be sooo great to have a little extra moral support!!!!! |
Glad, Here are my stats: Age- 38 Weight - 148 Height - 5.5 Goal - 130. |
Hi Glad...I'd love a new diet plan. I'm 5'9 and lets just say I weigh a bit more than troublet. Thank God for my height or I'd be in trouble! I guess it all "stretches out" ha ha! My mom was just talking about the exact same thing as on this thread about menopause and gaining weight. I hope this doesnt happen to me or I'd be buying all new clothes. no way could I handle another 20 lbs and feel healthy. My weight went up after the birth of my daughter over 8 yrs ago and pretty much stayed there. I gained alot of weight during my pregnancy and only lost 25 of it to this day. I've yo-yo dieted off and on for years. I felt like a completely different person after my daughter's arrival. I was really comfortable with my size and then boom! |

Well i am all for this may even be a answer to my prayers , As some of you may know i was very ill last year at this time i have lung diease , I had a lung biopsy done and have been recovering slowly but have gained weight part due to the medications and the other part due to lack of mobility. So i got a new tred mill and have been working at it but it is so boring ...hahaha The truth is I may need to have a lung transplant and the docters are telling me to lose the weight so having a few good buddies to encourage me wouldnt be so bad ..A complete life change has happened to me thus far so a body make over is right in order coping to the changes life can toss at ya seems to be what i do best these days ,,Happy new Years to everyone Deb~ Mini's mom |
Everyone, Don't look at this as losing weight. Think of it as feeling better and eating healthier. No matter what size we are, we need to all exercise and eat healthier. |
I have never had a weight problem in my life. i know how lucky I am, but in the past year since Iv'e not been working and in menopause I have gained 8 lbs and can't fit into my jeans. So I either but all new jeans or loose 5 lbs. i know it does not seem like a lot but it's all around my middle my arms and legs are still skinny. I started working out 4 days ago but I hate it. My big weakness is sugar. I live on it candy, soda cookies etc. I need to cut that out! |
I wanna join too!! I weigh 138, i year ago I was 115, b/f my baby. Now I cant shed them away! I am willing to do whatever you guys are doing! Here we go: age:25 Height: 5'3" Weight: 138 Goal:115 Would like to drop a few pant sizes, from 8 to maybe 6. |
Welcome! Welcome to the Club, Robbie, Miezzi, Deb, and Patti! Did you want to put your stats out there for the record? If not, that's OK. Like LadyT said, this is NOT dieting. It is a lifestyle built on making the right choices to eat healthy and stay fit. Working out as part of the plan is GREAT if you can do it, and especially if you can do it with someone else. That makes it a lot less boring! But if you can't go to the gym, at least make it a point to walk. I am in an exercise group (although I lost the majority of my weight prior to exercise) and we walk two miles twice a week. We also use some nautilus machines, and that helps to tone and tighten. When we first started out, we each got a pedometer and gave ourselves a daily goal to reach. I began at a goal of 2500 steps a day, as I was not a very active person, and gradually built to 7500 steps a day. The ultimate goal is 10, 000 steps a day, but I work a very sedentary job and could not consistently accomplish that, so 7500 was my minimum goal. Start small. Some of you may need to discuss all this with your doctor if you are unsure as to whether or not there are medical issues you need to consider while exercising. If you tell your doctor that you have decided to change your eating habits and are working to lose weight, watch their little faces LIGHT UP! Doctors get very excited about healthy eating! Have fun with this! Any questions you may have, I am here for you! :D |
OK to the stats .. 49 age 5'5''~tall 212 lbs Goal 145 Cute as button round face hahaha its the drugs i tell ya! Deb |
 Even thought I cant do any big excersie ..I am allowed to even told to by my docters to walk so I walk on a tred mill complete with oxygen tank and a oxometer for checking my air saturation , I think being healthy is the most loving gift you can give to yourself ,and in that is a good balance of everything ..mind body and soul .. so  to this NEW Year and to good HEALTH for us all " Deb |
Welcome, Amanda! Everyone, this is so awesome!! You are going to be so excited to attain your goals! Obviously we have a wide variety of goals here, and some will definitely get there faster than others, but you can ALL get there if you choose to. I wish everyone the best, and will have an assignment for you tomorrow! (Kara, you have already accomplished this and I got the idea from you, so you are ahead of the game!) In the meantime, be thinking about healthy eating, and what that means to you! If you want to post about that, I would be interested in hearing what your ideas are. I AM HERE FOR YOU! :D |
I'm in! I'm in! Since all of my health problems this year I've gained about 40 pounds. I will PM you my stats, I guess that means I have to step on the scale (Yikes!) I am more interested in eating healthy and feeling good, I know that the weight will come off. My biggest problem is not being able to exercise, I used to love to walk but my legs don't work so well any more! But I am excited to make the changes that I can. thanks for deciding to do this. I think I'll order that book. |
