I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I'm proud of you for taking action...so many wouldn't. Also, thanks for reminding all of us here that we need to be more protective of information. (I went back and took some info out of my profile.) It is so very easy to let your guard down after awhile. I'll be praying for you and your family...in hopes that you find some answers to this terrible thing!

That's GREAT Carolyn that you can track someone like that - do you get their REAL names when they get found out ?

I personally don't but when I track someone with their IP address I can find out where they're from, what ISP they use and where to call or email to the ISP server to report abuse. They in turn track the person and take it from there. I've done this before but never to this level of sickness!

. we got really nice people here on yt. but theres always someone that tries to ruin everything. and again im so sorry that this is going on right now. i really hope you catch the coward.

OMG, that is so awful to have happened to you!! It is a complete violation of your trust in posting your email address. It is hard to imagine when you are a kind and decent person that someone would want to hurt you, yet that is the sick world we live in. Last year at around Christmas time, I myself was the victim of what they call email "phishing." Like a dope, I responded to an email I thought was from my bank and I entered some personal information. The next day all my money was gone from my account

. I was devastated and felt totally violated. Luckily the bank was able to trace the illegal bank withdrawals to some computer out of the country and I got my money back. They were able to trace the phony email by the ip address. Every computer has an ip address (sort of like an id number) and whenever you access something with your computer, your ip address is recorded. The point is that maybe the police will be able to trace that email to someone's computer by getting that computer's ip address. They have been able to track down pedophiles that way on the internet. Please keep us posted and we'll pray that they catch the creep who did this!!

I would love to think they are now sitting there wondering why they did something so sick and maybe they'll figure out they need professional help.... It takes a truly sick sick person to do that to another human being....especially a mom

Before this thread gets locked (or deleted), I just want to say that this should be a lesson for all of us. It isn't difficult if you are computer savvy (which I am NOT), to track someone's posts, emails, etc and accumulate everything that said person has ever posted on the web.

You also need to know that what you put on the web (either in posts or in emails) leaves a PERMANENT record. It doesn't get lost in cyberspace - it sticks around forever.

It's for this reason that I don't post pictures of my family and I'm very selective about who I give my email address to. I'm not shaming anyone who has already done so, I just want you all to know that you MUST be careful!!!
