Since you like BBC's The White Queen then I'd recommend Philippa's series The Cousin's War, you could start off with the story of Jacquetta, Elizabeth Woodville's mother.

1.Lady of The Rivers (about Jacquetta)
2.The White Queen (story of Elizabeth Woodville)
3.The Red Queen (about Margaret Beaufort)
4.The Kingmaker's Daughter (Anne Neville)
5.The White Princess (just about to be released I think. It's about Elizabeth Woodville's daughter)

The Kingmaker's Daughter is the next one that I have to read.
I have read some of her other books such as The Other Boleyn Girl from the Tudor series but so far I prefer the above series.

These look really interesting! I ran them off and I am going to see if I can find copies at the library. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered it online. It should be here Wednesday, which is perfect, as I'm off work weds, thurs, & fri of this week, so I'll have time for a little floating in the pool & reading :)

I love Downton Abbey! I was so upset with how the ended the last season. Seemed kind of rushed. Despite her attitude, Mary is one of my favorite characters and I can't wait to see what is in store for her.

Since we only started watching Downton Abbey this summer, we have skipped around on the sequence, depending what was on the reruns. However, we are now borrowing a DVD and just finished season 1. Wow! It really helps to know some of the background when watching season 3.

There is nothing like curling up with the dogs in our basement and watching another episode. My favorite activity this summer! :)

Not a period drama, but a good British show, Last Tango in Halifax starts on PBS here stateside on September 8....look out for it :)

Course it's nothing like DA but it had a huge following of all types here. Do you all watch any other American shows?

Well, time to go back to my Foyle's War and wait for DA months and months from now. Oh, well, DA and Westminster are two reasons not to be bummed once Christmas is over.

Jeanne, Kazzy lives here in the US now, not far from me in MI. She does however have access to UK programing so she gets a peak of things early.

I however have wondered about Breaking Bad, my husband said he watched a few shows and found it depressing and disturbing about a methadone dealer that was quite cruel so I too wonder why it is so popular

Oh, yes! He's back from America and in MI5 now that the Cold War and big-time spying is up and running, albeit in no small measure against his better judgment. His perky gal driver, Sam, the indefatigable, is back, too, by hook or by crook. Sadly, I think there were only 3 or 4 episodes this time. "Sunflower" I think was the last for this go around though I'm not sure; however, no "upcoming episodes" showed under the last episode "Sunflower" on my Foyle's War series episode Search and it searches up to two weeks ahead. Sunflower left me just wondering "what next"! It was intense there at the end. FW is a series that kind of grows on you and I love the periods in history it encompasses. Love all the Masterpiece Mysteries so much.

Yes. Some of my friends in the England watch Breaking Bad...personally I don't care for it. And yes, quite a few American shows are aired in the UK... ALOT of NCIS, as well as Big Bang Theory, Mad Men, Family guy, Duck Dynasty, & lots more.
