| Nothing worse than neck pain. I have an old neck injury and sometimes I wake up like that. I recently bought myself a my pillow from qvc and knock on wood my neck does not bother me. I hope your neck continues to improve.

| Something similar happened to me a few months ago. I was overtaken in my bed by two little yorkies and I didn't want to disturb them to move them, so I slept all weird around them and woke up with a stiff neck, including sharp and totally random pains up into my brain. It hurt so bad and I had to take several Aleve daily just I could function and not be a total B to everyone. It was to the point where I was going to go to the ER and get an MRI but finally it slowly faded away. It was about 2-3 weeks until the pain subsided. I hope you feel better. I know how it is first hand. And esp it sucks that the reason is something stupid like "I just woke up and it hurt!" Instead of "I fought off a cougar to save my dog"
