| UGH! I just can't donate anymore!!! I am pretty charitable... within my means. I almost always say Yes to those places asking for $1 for this or that charity, always donating to friends causes, etc. I am BURNT OUT lately. I have NO MORE money to give! NO MORE! I have probably donated around $500 this year so far to soooo many causes, but everywhere I go, someone is asking for $1, ringing a bell, giving out stickers. Work sends out fund raiser emails almost DAILY asking for money for cancer walks, 5ks, 10ks, boy scouts, girl scouts, school fundraisers, community fundraisers... Everyone is collecting for the Boston 1 fund around every corner. Then I go outside and the homeless are always asking for $ or cigs everytime I go out there! (I work in the inner city) I WANT to donate to everything, they are all wonderful causes.... but I am going to go broke!!!! I always feel sooo guilty when I say "Not this time." but I HAVE to! Every company I ever worked for did not allow soliciting in emails to the company.... but this company is a free for all. Im going to start a fundraiser to raise money so I can donate money!!! LOL Sorry just a small rant!

| If you don't have it don't donate it. It's that simple LOL Don't feel bad about it- DH is always handing money out- he is the type to buy whatever the person knocking at our door has.. I caught him the other day trying to buy some pest control from some random guy that came to our door!

| People get very upset. I just donated $55 to the Boston 1 Fund, about $30 to a work cancer charity, $25 to YHR, all in the last month (which don't get me wrong, I love to do that!). My cousin's baby shower is next weekend (second kid mind you!) and now I have a friend asking for money because she's shaving her head for children's cancer and there is a new cancer fundraiser at work for the SAME one I donated to already. Its just a non-stop onslaught of donation requests. I hate feeling guilty!

| Well you cant really do anything if they are upset, but if you don't have it you don't have it. They shouldn't expect it out of you either.

| oh how I hear you!! we have "car guards" that look after your car while you are shopping. I use the term look after very loosely. If you dont "pay them" they / some of them scratch your car. Its madness! |

| I'm on all of their lists, I think! I do donate regularly so I am fodder for their mills, I guess. Approaching the Holiday Season in the fall, it gets pretty intense. But with the need so great, it is hard to turn away. I do have my same few ones that I usually work with because I know how they are administered and use fund responsibly. You just cannot respond to all of them even if you are rich. Just doing your research and picking your neediest and most responsible charities will limit your giving. It's hard to say no though. Keep giving as you can and try not to worry about all of them - you have a generous heart for the hurting. It says a lot about you.

Set an amount that you can afford to give and stick with it! It is not good to give so much that you put yourself in a bind!!!

| Here is one that bothers me: The supermarket I frequent raises money for Prostrate Cancer and another charity..cannot remember which one now. Anyway...when you use the card reader it asks you at the start if you want to donate to that charity. THEN, after you have submitted your information and the cashier can push whatever button they push to complete the transaction, if you have clicked on NO, they ask you if you want to donate!?!?!??!??! It totally infuriates me.

| People are hurting, every corner around here have men standing with signs that say ( please help a Vet ) Its sad There has been so many tragic things lately, I sometimes wonder just what the heck is coming next,, I did the text donation for Boston & Oklahoma , the devastation is so beyond anything I can imagine. My prayers go out to all who are in need.
