Oh, I'm glad to know, Judy. I felt so sad seeing those two Robert's and wondering which one had helped your own son and been his pal. I wanted to say just a little extra prayer for him for what I know about his kindnesses even as a young man. And then, of course, add a extra prayer for those other young firemen that died as no doubt there are such stories about each that made them so special to those that love them. How is your Jimmy doing now? And how is your swollen face? Sounds as if the two of you need prayer as well.

I started taking antibiotics Thursday evening when I got home from work and the side of my face/neck, under my left ear was getting very sore and looked like it was swelling. I had a jump on it....and it is not sore at all, except if I chew on that side...and the swelling is going down....I told God, Please dont make me go to work Monday, looking like I have a horrible case of mumps.....It is going down, I am hoping I look as normal as possible by tomorrow. Jimmy is doing well....we are discussing all the things Robert had done for Jimmy back in school...and what a fine person he had grown to be, always the same dear, sweet, kind person we always knew....Jimmy asks why in the world God didnt leave Robert here, doing so much good for so many people....Jimmy pointed out how many people Robert could have helped if God would have left him here until he was 80 years old. Jimmy reasons that "God made him such a good man that was so helpful and such a good friend to so many people, why would God make him so good, and then take him away so soon? Heaven is full of good people, and we need Robert here with us"...........I wonder that too, so I have not formulated an answer yet.

Judy I just want you to know I am thinking of you and Jimmy. Such a tragedy.

Awh such a hard question to answer. What I believe is that sometimes God calls the good ones home early. They are needed in heaven.

The good that Jimmy has done over the years here on Earth, will always live on in the hearts and minds of those souls he has touched.

May the light shine upon you both, surround you, uplift you, and nourish you, during this time of loss

Since we live in faith in God's wisdom in working things all things out, you will pray and ask for guidance on how to answer. But the book we use for guidance tells us it is appointed to a man once to die and the Father takes over from there. That's the trust we place in a loving Father who knows the future and has a plan we can never comprehend with our limited understanding. He'll also guide you in how to best convey that to Jimmy. Sometimes platitudes and earthly wisdoms don't really make a lot of sense trying to explain away death of a good person and we just look to God for comfort and help through it in faith and trust. We humans cannot explain so much in life.

I'm glad you are feeling better and also pray that you aren't really swollen tomorrow. I once had to work after some plastic surgery to remove some small little knots on my forehead and face - about 6! I worked for days with those dot bandages lightly covering an antibiotic ointment all over my face and it was so embarrassing! I'm glad you are feeling some better. It sounds painful and scary! Feel better soon.

Oh, Judy, I am just seeing this. How heartbreaking....the news about these four has had me so sad ... knowing someone who is grieving the loss of one makes it even worse. I am so sorry for your son....I just don't even know what to say. Horribly sad loss.

Judy I feel your pain also. One of the greatest gentleman I've ever met died in that fire. Matthew Renaud was a young guy with a huge heart. My deepest condolences goes out to all families and friends of this courage's individuals who risk their lives for ours. RIP

Thank you all for taking the time to offer your support and prayers for my son and I....I am fine....should look essentially normal in a couple more days, and Jimmy is processing the loss of his dear friend very well....after the initial shock, he is doing much better...we are reading devotionals, and going over the procedures how the fire department honors her fallen heros, and he is doing OK....I think after Jimmy has a chance to speak with some of the fire fighters he knows, as well as the policemen he knows and loves and respects so much, he will do much better. Thank you for all your prayers for him as he works through this......
