Getting kind of sick of hearing about this...

What is Wolf sizes? Ive never heard of that.

And all of you are right. There should be an industry standard on sizes across the board. Personally I hate shopping. And then having to try on clothes on top of it....ugh....I'm usually too tired to do anything else afterwards. So...I know what size I can get whatever clothing item I want from now and just order it on-line. Did that make any sense

I found this on line. It describes the wolf sizes. I had seen the forms before, but now know what they are called. Thanks, capt_noonie. I learned something new today.

Yes, Marcharter is correct. Wolf is the brand of dress forms that we use to drape fabric and create patterns on. When I was in design school there were mostly Wolf size 8 dress forms, and a few size 10s. The 8 is industry standard, which is a medium. That translates to a store label size 4, give or take, depending on the label. This is also the size they models wear, bc they will make samples from the dress form, and fit it on a live model.

They do however make dress forms in all sizes. I"m sure a lot of the high end designers are using much smaller Wolf forms, bc there is no way in hell those girls are a size 4, they look much smaller.
