| I had a wonderful lady that would come 2 wks at a time and she charges for 2 story house with dogs. She would clean downstairs only and when I would have company she would clean upstairs. then it was 110.00 Well long story short. She told me I had to pay taxes so it went to 75.00 every 2wks regardless if it took 2-? hrs. and one time I had her come every 3wks and then she wanted 10.00 more. So guess who is cleaning now ? (Me). sure wished I would find someone cheaper.. Good Luck I just wanted to check out some of the cleaning companies and just for them to clean base boards. it was 50.00 hr. (holy Cow).. Cheryl |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Embarrassed to admit we have a cleaning woman...embarrassed bc it's just hubby and me, and you'd think we'd do it ourselves. But, we've come to know ourselves and know that we just will *not* dust/polish/scrub properly...just not gonna happen. So, we pay our wonderful cleaning woman (her hubby comes now too, since he was laid off) $80 to come every 3 weeks; our house is 3000 sq ft. They are the nicest, sweetest people - and I totally trust them, which is a real luxury. I feel really lucky to have found her.

| I used to be embarassed to have a cleaning lady also when I had not kids or others living in the house. But I have changed my mind, I work hard all week and do not want to spend my free time cleaning (or in my case thinking about cleaning and never doing it). I love my cleaning lady, she is so nice and does a better job then I would ever consider doing. Avery the cat has mad love for the cleaning lady, she always takes time out to sit down and give him some loving. Sophie Kate is another story, she follows her around annoying her and barking at the mop and vacuum.

I often wonder what people do with their dogs if they are not home and the cleaning people show up.

| You'll probably think I' m crazy but my cleaning people come from a men's home. They're ex con's who are living in a christian halfway house and will do almost anything to help keep themself busy and to support their home. I started using them to do my yard work about 2 years ago and just started letting them do my house about 3months ago. They'll clean anything. They scrub the walls, baseboards, blinds and ceiling fans. Without me asking. They always move the furniture. Once the even moved the stove and refrigerator and cleaned under. I don't leave them alone in the house but they never send anyone I haven't worked with a least a few times outside. I used to feel quilty but now feel I've earned the right to not clean. I only work 36 hours a week but 12 hour nights are exhausting. I preferto spend time with my dogs and work with my fosters pup. My cleaners don't charge a set fee, they say pay what I want to. I usually pay $10/ hr/person which usually works out to around $30. |
