| Plato's Closet Do you have one of these near you? I do and sometimes buy a few things there. Anyway, I thought I'd clean my closet today and get rid of some things I never wear or got too fat to wear All high end designer stuff, Michael Kors, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Dana Buchman, etc. Oh and a pair of black suede Jordans that I wore maybe three times and in perfect condition. So I drop the stuff off for them to peruse, go have lunch and go back. Out of all that, they only wanted one pair of AE jeans and the Jordans. They said the other stuff was too out of date REALLY, I had no idea that JEANS ever go out of style and these were all in perfect condition. Oh, and they wanted to only give me NINE dollars for the Jordans, which were $260 new I took all my stuff back and would rather donate it somewhere. The Jordans I'll put up on Craigslist and get a lot more than $9, there are collectors out there that love them. Just my little rant for the day

| We have one of these close to me... I've never gone, but I'm sure you don't get rich selling your clothes. I would think you would have more luck on Ebay or Craigslist.

She does it as a matter of convenience, as you get no where near $wise what you could for your stuff on CL or Ebay, but that involves having to list it & either deal with meeting people in person or packing stuff up & shipping it out. For her it's just easier to drop stuff off there. The way she looks at it, she trades in 5 shirts/tops she's no longer wearing anyway, and gets 1 she thinks is cute.

| Yeah, I don't expect them to pay a whole lot for stuff, but to snub it altogether? Meanwhile, they have stuff in there that is all pilled up, frayed, broken zippers, and off-brand. I just don't get it but I will take the time to list on Craigslist and get a little more, and donate the rest

| We have one near us. I thought they were a little high for a resale shop. Shows how much they really are making lol. My son has found pants in there but I never find anything for me. I'm like you, sometimes I'd rather donate my stuff then be insulted by what they will offer.

| That's how I feel too. I took in several pairs of jeans from Express and they were too outdated. Whatever....I'd rather donate them or give them to someone who would better benefit from them.

| I tried to find a place to take a wedding gown that I never wore, still has tags on it and is GORGEOUS. Nowhere around here will take it except one shop that would sell it for $90 and give me only 40%. So I'd get like $40 for a gown I paid $500 for that was never worn. I still have it in my closet, no way would I do that... I'd rather donate it to someone!

| Jordans are Nike Michael Jordan shoes. They are quite pricey and highly collectible. that's why I was so miffed that they offered me $9 for them I am keeping them
