Thing is, it works both ways.....if YOU were to decide to move, at least for your future purchase you'd be aware of ANY potential worries/plans/noisy neighbours, anything nasty or good (sometimes!) that might be coming up :) I am so, so sorry you're having to go through all this, and all the noise and mess that it involves :( Sally x |

I hope your phone calls and conversations with reps and commisioners helps you with the noise. |

[QUOTE=Lil Sis;4058721]I am sorry! This is why I am so against drilling for oil. Of course in Florida it is off shore. An oil spill kills the marine life and the beaches are never the same ugh! And the tem clean coal is a joke, i wish we could use more energy such as wind power or solar...QUOTE] I guess we are all against drilling for oil on or near beloved property or our own property but the alternative is to buy it from foreign countries that charge us what they will and then make life very painful for us to boot. So far no one individual will really let many wind power plants be put on or even near their land due to the noise and unsightliness. And we just don't have anywhere near enough of them to convert cheaply enough or efficiently enough to the electrical energy needs of all our cars and electrical grid. And then we'll all have to be able to purchase the cars. They are expensive to many working Americans just barely making it or without jobs right now. And our brand new Americans, immigrants, older people who still drive living on fixed incomes can never afford them until the price is brought way, way, way down. Businesses, cities, counties, states will all have to buy new fleets of vehicles. And from what I hear from the plants going broke, solar power isn't that effective, practical or cheap right now either. Nervous investors are holding back funds now for even the basics, let alone anything risky or not too sure so the funding just is a no-go right now for anything with very much risk. All that said, it is a terrible shame any oil or wind rig or manufacturing plant can move in so near to where families and animals have to live, work and sleep and just make life miserable with the noise, smells or chemicals they work with! I would be talking to my senator and asking what to do. |
Latest issue is cars, house, driveway completely covered with black dust looking stuff. UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHH |

Gross! I'd video all that and start a journal about the noise, actual pollution and go to my senator's office staff and ask them to seek EPA and any other help you can get. One of their sharp lawyers on staff should be able to talk with you, investigate and direct you where to get help or tell you what you need to do. The company running that rig or the oil company or whoever is causing that needs to clean it up. You all are breathing that in. |

I'd also get what audio evidence I could, though that is harder to do as often there are types of sound that grossly affect people that often won't register well on acoustics meters, let alone record well. But it would be good if you could get daytime and nighttime decibels averages and extremes. |

Be sure you & your property is fully compliant with all local, state & any fed rules and regs because the powers that be will be sure you are as pure as the driven snow also at some point if you cause them too enough trouble! I always put in my complaint letters that I so fear complaining for fear of retribution and intimidation and after all, we are just a singe little clinic, yadayadayada. And please help us but don't punish our doctors by starting all kinds of "investigations, etc." because I am asking for help and on and one. Just letting all co-addressees know that if we start getting all our claims investigated, it could be looked at as an attempt to shut me up and intimidate our practice. Those that squawk really loud could get looked at so know that. But getting a lot of well-known and political influences involved in your plight plus, in your case, media, will help. Start a Facebook page, etc., or whatever, once you have asked someone about all this. You are playing in deep waters when you take on oil people and their investors, their politicians who they pay off - I mean support -, etc., so be prepared to get looked at possibly so ask one of your U. S. Senator's staff lawyers and others about your liabiity in starting Facebook, media complaints first, just to know what you could be facing if it gets nasty. Not saying this will happen but I always make certain our clinic is always playing by all the rules because I am loud and get a lot of influential people involved in our clinic's insurance problems, etc., so we have to follow every rule every day! |
