Wow we have oil things all over here. Is it the pumper type? Ours are yellow with an arm that goes up and down. They don't make house though. Now the oil rigs off the coast do ocassionally make loud noises |
Wow i can not believe they don't have to get permission to make that much noise all hours. That is nuts. I would invite the county seat the legislators and the senator to come in the evening and try to sleep |

1 Attachment(s) This is how close this stupid thing is to us! The red flag is my house. The blue flag is the oil well. :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown You can see how close it is to houses! Attachment 377244 |
After they get the well drilled, and they hit paydirt, the pounding will stop. They will cap it, move the rig, and put a pumper on it....all that loud noise will be over. Then it is just a muffled, rhythemic, hhhhhhhhhuuuuuummmmmmm....the sweet sound of money! Dont sell the house and move yet!! |
Sorry you are having to deal with this, but i feel your pain on the noise and dust. I have the same situtation at my house only mine is from a new 4 lane highway going through. All summer long i could not let my dogs out because of the dust, if you walked in my yard you could see puffs of dust kicked up with every step you took and everything is covered in dust. Then we had dump trucks coming and going constantly. Thankfully things are getting wraped up and there is hard surface put down on 2 of the lanes but still very dusty. Unfortunatly there is not much can be done about this, they call it progress, many people lost their homes for this inter state to come through. I agree contact your county commisoners and then go from there for help. Good luck. |
I am sorry! This is why I am so against drilling for oil. Of course in Florida it is off shore. An oil spill kills the marine life and the beaches are never the same ugh! And the tem clean coal is a joke, i wish we could use more energy such as wind power or solar... But that doesn't help you. I would try to organize a neighborhood meeting. If y'all work together as a team you will get more done. It really is a shame that the greed for money by the company and the land owner and all if us really could be so disrespectful to the way of life and rights of others. |

Well I got on the web and found everything. I know who the owner of the land is, the exact longitude and latitude, the company information (as I found the permit), they are drilling down 6000 ft, and that they are looking for gas. I also found the state ordinance that says the noise level has to be below 45 decibels during the night. I also researched that this "fracking" is causing earthquakes in my area. So I guess I better get earthquake insurance. I spent hours on this. I also found the number of my County Seat rep who will be hearing from me as well. And I may have a word or two for the person allowing all this. He no longer owns the land. He sold the land but kept the mineral rights. So this isn't bothering him. He is just going to the bank. I guess I wouldn't mind so much if it wasnt an area with close houses. If we each owned hundreds of acres it wouldn't be so bad. But this thing is pretty close to numerous houses! Anyway, I will be making calls tomorrow and at least complaining. We will see how that goes! |
