We just had a half mile funnel off shore here (Nor Cal) almost touched the beach...didn't think tornados were an issue in CA. Hope you're all hurricane prepared and stay safe. If you think you need to leave, please do so. Hope you all can check in with updates asap. |

Gov. Christie just ordered the flood gates at Lake Hopatcong open, I live only 2 blocks away from the lake, so hopefully the lake will drain enogh that we won't flood, with Irene we got about 4 inches of water in the basement, so who knows they did not open the flood gates until the hurricane was here. we are as ready as we are going to be, everyone else please be careful and stay safe.. hugs, |
Thinking of you all in the path of this storm, praying that you are safe |
Be safe please and keep us posted when it is safe to do so. I was on 75/85 North in Atlanta this morning and passed a long line if utility trucks headed North. Prayers are offered from this fellow YTer in the South. |
Saw something on the news here about some guys headed your way up Northeast to help with the storms. I think crews from all over are on the way. I just heard this morning that there will be a hurricane & snow in close proximity!!! I PRAY there are still none of those fisherman like the Andrea Gail crew out when this thing hits! Surely even the most seasoned of guys won't take a chance on another perfect storm since that is exactly what everyone is predicting. Ya'll don't take any chances if you have a choice and be safe. Prayers will cover you. |
Stay safe everyone.:) |
I don't like the current storm model. Praying this thing gets downgraded again tomorrow. |
Stay safe! |

From Twitter: NWS in NYC issues HIGH WIND WATCH saying 70-80 MPH wind gusts in NYC, coastal CT & NJ Monday afternoon & evening. |
Praying everyone stays safe!!! Light rain and some wind for us here in N.C. |
We have a pink sky! (that usually means the storms have pulled away from our coast) After two days of grey, wind and rain I am not sorry to see Sandy go- but wish it would stay out to sea. My 90 yr old mother lives alone in NJ and I am praying it doesn't do any damage. |
Can anyone tell me where Gaithersburg, MD falls in Sandy's path? We have a friend there and I'm worried for her. |

I am hoping and praying for everyone to stay safe. My dad cut a big patch of grass from the far end of our property and put it in the garage so Callie will hopefully got potty on that during the storm. We don't have many big trees near our house but the one we just moved out of did and I am worried it might get damage and that we wont be able to get to it to know for a day or two. |
We're as ready as we're going to be. We've got our lanterns, flashlights, batteries, radio, bottled water, and non-perishable food. Patio furniture is tied down or brought in and propane tank is full. Both of DH's jobs are closed tomorrow, which is good because MTA has closed down all mass transit, buses, and subways starting now (at 7pm), so he wouldn't have been able to get into the city anyway. The school where I teach is closed tomorrow and Tuesday, so I will be glad to just hunker down here at home. We're just not sure what to do with the dog. She will not potty inside...no matter what kind of contraption I fix up for her. We have had to take her out in blizzards, hurricanes, thunderstorms, hail, you name it, because she will only go outside. Any ideas? |
