| Looking into raw type food for cat I am thinking of giving my cats specifically, 14 year old Maine Coon Mika, a more raw based diet. Since it is a cat I am asking about I did not put it into the nutrition section. But if an admin. feels this is better off their please move They are currently eating FROMM Salmon a la Veg kibble available 24/7 for the 2 cats and THK Prowl once daily as a treat normally. Turkey and her do not get along for an extended period of time. Mika has always been a wet food junky. The last 1-2 months Mika has been getting much more vocal about getting her wet food so she has been getting it at least twice a day and have become a counter/table surfer which she has never been before. She will still nibble on the kibble but wants wet food all the time . And I want to make her the happiest she can be. Tallulah the other cat does not do well on a large amount of wet food daily- She ends up with bathroom issues and has very long hair :yuck: She is healthy other than some arthritis- Now getting Vit E and Fish Oil daily. Does anyone have any great recommendations for raw or dehydrated type cat foods? I would prefer to give her more fish since she has become so full of herself since I started to give her fish oil daily. She would eat canned tuna, cod, salmon, chicken, etc raw everyday but I want her to get a balanced diet and me making it daily for her daily is not an option for me. Grandma Lucy's is definatley one I am looking into I just wish it was available in more than 3 pounds at a time. https://www.grandmalucys.com/retail/...&cat=14&page=1 Just looking for more options for her! So sorry for the length. I just got power back today sort of- Parents house has power but I still don't. Thanks all.

| Bump bump! Anyone heard of or used TC feline or Wysong (the archetype or uncanny)? Freezer/refrigeration is a problem for me so dehydrated/freeze dried where you add water is best for me. Plus Mika loves her wet food to be really soupy. Thanks all!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hi I have cats too. Mine not a fan of THK. I was surprised. They eat everything lol. Since you have refrigerator and freezer issues maybe look at grain free can. There is a few out there that is good. Weruva - People Food for Pets Nature's Logic Nature's Variety Instinct: Grain-Free Canned Diets for Cats | Nature's Variety * *Just not the rabbit. It is from China If *she like it more soupy try getting organic low sodium broth. I get mine at Trader Joes. Real good. Also watch cause she is older she might have some bathroom issues due to the change. Make sure you trim the hair on her whole bum. I had a Norweigian Forest Cat that passed last year so I so understand those issues. I also add in canned pumpkin in their diet if I am changing foods to give more fiber in their diet to help with problems. Good luck maybe post a pic. How big is she? They tend to be large kitties lol |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Primal and NV both make raw for cats (this is what I use for the dogs). They also make freeze dried raw, which can be a nice way to switch over (although freeze dried is always more $).

I know Wevuva is made in Thialand but to me it is too close to Japan which was having issue with Radiation. The food does look really good though! Nature's Logic looks good. Will have to do more research on it. I tend to not buy canned food since recycling is a pain in the butt in my area. They doesn't believe in it and the recyling center is 15 mins away. I will definately look into the canned food though! Thanks! Mika does her own butt trimming ever since I had her spayed like 12 years ago she keeps the hair back their short . She likes a kitty Brazilian Tallulah (12) does not believe in bathing or being groomed so she gets her butt cut down close with scissors and I just cut her mats out. She has tons of hair!! Great clumping factor!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | It is like tumble weeds going across the floor lol. The kibble you are feeding her is great. I give mine California natural chicken and brown rice. Few ingredients they love it. I free feed them that and I am giving them triumph wet food now. Just changed over. They are getting older and if it is pieces with sauce one licks all the sauce off and doesn't eat the food. Idk lol so the gooshy food if the way to go with me. But I do sometimes cook lightly chicken and give them that. They will eat almost everything. My piglets |
