| Ever had them pesty fruit flies? I discovered a tip, kind of by accident, for getting rid of them once and for all. (may not be a new tip to you but it was for me) I've set the vinegar traps but they rarely worked. I heard they like to lay eggs in the slimy parts of your drain, like your garbage disposal if you don't have fruit out for them to lay eggs on. So, with water running into your garbage disposal, turn on your disposal. With the disposal running, squirt a little dish soap down your disposal. With the the other side of your sink open, bubbles will spill out into the other side. Let the disposal run until the bubbles on the other side stop expanding. Then turn off and rinse. This is also a cheap way to clean your disposal without buying the expensive packets (same thing), and if you do it once a week it will get rid of the fruit flies. YAY!!!

| We put ice cubes and lemons in the garbage disposal.... Also vinegar and baking soda. Baking soda first, then the vinegar and it causes it to fizz and is supposed to get rid of the gunk. I keep a glass of apple cider vinegar on my bar at all times because I hate those things!!

| We have always had a few in our basement. Not sure why. No garbage disposal down there, but I will try it in the kitchen and thanks for the tip.

| Quick way to get them when they are flying about. Keep some hair spray (the pump kind) handy....give them a squirt and then they cannot fly and you can smash them. (I sound like a meanie )

| I hate theses pests. They have to be the slowest flying, yet hardest to smack insects there is. I eat a lot of fruit, and I know that's how I bring them in. The thought that there's probably already eggs on the bananas when I buy them....eewwwww!

| Try the hair spray...gets them every time! They instantly become walkers instead of fliers.
