That poor old woman, if it is not a hoax, almost falls out of that harness & her blouse is coming off!!!! See what you think!!! 80-Year-Old Woman’s Skydiving Trip from Hell - ABC News

| Scary! I once meet a woman with two broken legs who had jumped and her parachute did not deploy correctly. Luckily for her she said she landed on soft ground so she only broke both legs No for me I definitely am not a fan of heights.

| This whole thing is weird. ABC took the story I originally linked to down after I sent them a "reply" to their original Tweet this morning about this story. I just asked them if it was a hoax. Then, they have subsequently deleted the Tweet about the story!!! I searched "80 yr old skydiving" on Twitter & found some Tweets about it, another one with a link to another site. I linked on that site & its story on this subject was taken down! Just like on the ABC website, just get an Error 404 message that the page cannot display. Wonder what is going on?????? Subsequent to ABC taking the story down I Googled "The Clive" remembering it from the ABC story I had originally linked to above, and found the video there but not the whole video that ABC had a link to from its now-gone story. Weirder & weirder!

| Did you see the skin on her torso just blowing in the wind?!?! That was awful - must have hurt. I never did see this mentioned on the news when it happened. You would think GMA, Today & all the network evening news programs would have covered it - it's that kind of story. I still wonder if it is a hoax & that's why ABC took the story down & off Twitter.

| I'm a skydiver. I have a C license, coach rating and 348 jumps. I can tell you that if this story is true, it's very rare to have things go anything other than smoothly on tandem jumps. Now I'm not going to say it's not dangerous after you get through AFF and you're solo. I've had 4 malfunctions, 3 of which resulted in cutaways where I had to deploy my reserve canopy. But all in all, it's not as dangerous as you'd think. Wingsuiting is a whole different animal. My wingsuit should be here sometime in August. Personally, I think everyone should try it just once. It's the closest thing you'll ever get to human flight.

| I always wanted to skydive when I was in my teens and early 20's. Now that I'm in my later 20's, I'm all of a sudden scared of everything lol! Good news for all of us who were worried about her... she's just fine and doesn't seem too upset about the whole incident! 80-Year-Old Skydiver Laughs About Terrifying Fall - ABC News

| I seen this on TV over the week-end. I do remember it saying she panic and didnt want to go but wasn't sure if the trainer forced her and then all snit went wrong. Glad for linz06 posting that the lady was fine after the fact. Another reason I never want to skydive, LOL. |

| If you watch it, you'll notice that she apparently was changing her mind and was sliding further and further down on the instructor . . .he kept pulling her hands away from the side of the plane, so it looks like he made her jump after she probably chickened out . . .not sure he realized how far down she actually was . . .but she was lucky she didn't go flying in the air with no parachute or instructor!
