| If you're just looking for reliability then get any of the import cars. I have heard that Ford has come far with the Fusion, but I still would not buy domestic. Just heard and experienced WAY too many bad BAD things. Don't ever buy Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Pontiac, Chev or GMC. They're all total garbage.... no offence to anyone who owns one ![]() The nice thing about going with a smaller model new car is that you get a long warranty with it, and you also will usually get way better financing options. When I was looking for my first new car the bank was offering me 9% interest on a used vehicle, but I got my new Mazda for 1.9% over 5 yrs. My new Speed came with 0% for 6 years. Plus, already being a Mazda owner, they took $1000 off the price of the car, on top of a $1000 off special offer. Consumer reports!! Read them!!

| Our last 2 cars were new Toyotas,I thought they were more than I wanted to spend too, but we kept each for 9-10 years many miles and no major repairs! And than sold them for a decent price. Try www.KBB.com(kelley blue book) to check the going prices -especially used cars. |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have a Nissan Xterra the last 5 years and I LOVE it. I can be really hard on cars. I've had normal maintenance stuff, or age stuff need repairing...but not a money pit at all. I love it!

| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I have a white 2010 Chevy Malibu and Brandon has a black Ford F-150 Extended Cab...we are like so opposite of each other. But I did have a Nissan Altima before I had the Malibu. It was a 2003. I loved the way it drove and did not have many problems out of it. It was so comfy and loved driving on the interstate in it. My hubby said it was just 'ok' but I loved it. We also had a 2000 Nissan XTerra before that. We adored that car! Wonderful vehicle! My Malibu is the very first brand new car I have ever had. I almost cried when I bought it. I had always had used. And although some may not like Chevy, I ADORE my Malibu! It drives like a dream, no problems whatsoever so far, wonderful warranty, great customer service at our local dealer, and best of all great on gas and I was able to afford it. I will have it paid off in 3 years. I will probably get an SUV next. We love the car but are running out of space, especially when we travel back and forth from AL to PA.

| I have a 2010 Armada that I love!! No problems yet, but it is still fairly new. My mother has an Altima that I think is a 2003. It has been a great car. I think no matter the maker you can get an excellent car or you can get a lemon. My first new car was a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire. I think it was around $12k, iirc. I drive that car for 10 years, my husband drove it for 3 years and now one of his employees still drives it. Now that is getting your money's worth out of a Pontiac!! |

| My Mom has a Nissan Altima and she loves it! I had a Corvette and I just loved that! It was a 2000 and it was getting up there in the miles so we traded it in for a 2011 Dodge Ram. I have that truck and DH has a Dodge Ram 4x4 2012. We both love our trucks. I never had a truck this is my first and I can honestly say I love it. I have a 6" lift on it with 32" tires. I run over just about anything and I dont have to worry- I am also higher up so I can see really good!! The inside is nice and big, and I have the back to carry stuff when I need to!! I love having a truck now that I have one! I am pretty use to it I also have a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty on it I think whatever you get buy it new so you have a nice warranty and don't have to worry about anything

I can tell that a lot of Peeps THINK that domestic cars are unreliable. DJDB's statement is sooo silly. It's a sterotype that has held on with no substaciating proof. Brainwashed people giving recomendations keeps it going. A car is the most complicated thing that most people own, keeping all those moving parts and electronics working properly and together is a complicated engineering feat. Most of the times builders get it right. For what its worth, Toyota and Honda are ranked right up on top as far as recalls go. Good luck with your car hunting. | ||

| Actually, this has made me realize why I hate forums - they're full of inconsiderate, rude people. I've about had enough of the immature garbage. I will not be back to YT.
