| Absolutely nuts. Just when you think you have heard it all. Even if it was 1983, he would probably do the same thing today. Too bad the potty went on the back window. It missed its target. |

![]() A lot of people used to believe in spanking their kids with a belt, would he proudly proclaim that now in the midst of a race if it applied to him? I doubt it. Why not? Because he knows it's wrong & embarrassing. Obviously he doesn't feel that way about subjecting his dog to this. What an idiot. ![]() ![]()

People believe what they want to believe. As I have said I prefer to have a dog on a roof in a carrier than in loose in the back of a pick up truck. I don't approve of either but I also don't approve of people who dig up things like this and bloviate all over the internet, not because they care about the matter, but because they have a political issue they want to beat. Obviously the carrier was not air tight or the dog would have died quickly. I think he was trying to make the point that the carrier was sound and the dog was not being hit by the wind but you feel free to think what you want to. That is what our country is about. | |

| Still trying to find details...in reading, I am reminded of LBJ lifting his dog by the ears.

| I don't give a rats behind if it was last week...last month...ten, or twenty years ago. WTF. It is not acceptable. I mean we all have done things that now in hindsight we probably wouldn't have done but to put a dog, cat, bird or any living thing ON TOP OF THE CAR!!!! just crazy. I really don't care about the political thing but just as a person, I can't imagine what his thought process was. And to defend it now. Somebody has a screw loose!!!!

| As someone mentioned above, Mitt's son was the original source of the story written by the Boston Globe in the run-up to the 2008 presidential primaries. From NPR: Quote:

| Thor's Human Donating Member | If this were the only case of bad personal judgment, I would try to give the benefit of the doubt. I can't imagine any scenario where this would make sense, but the world's a complicated place. Personally, I'm happy (sort of) to see that poor treatment of animal(s) creates a major scandal. I can maybe imagine a dog enjoying being in a securely fixed kennel on top of the car for a short, slow drive around town. Heck, I can imagine a young kid enjoying that type of adventure. But you don't see kids on the top of cars because it's so incredibly obvious that it would be dangerous. I just can't visualize someone looking at that, and thinking, "yes, that's safe enough." And the thing is, I can understand why people drive with dogs in their laps, or kids in the back of pickups, because it maybe doesn't seem as dangerous as it actually is. But on top of your car? How do you not see that?

| Poor dog and this it the first I have heard about it. Wish he would have said that he was sorry that he did that in 1983 and he feels certain his poor pet suffered. It does appear that he is going to be the Repulican candidate, IMHO.

No, seriously though, this is just sick and wrong. Why the heck not buy a BIGGER vehicle if you have 5 kids and a bigger breed dog? Stupid
