Not to mention when the guy delivers I'm usually not home and ChiChi scratches the door so much that it's got scratches all over it ;)

Maybe Amazon has something I can stick on the door for that...haha.

Don't know about Quibids...but...Love...Amazon Prime! I average1-2 shipments per week. We live in a rural community and good shopping (something beyond Wal-Mart) is a 45 mile drive. I've even use the "subscribe and save" for several items, coffee, tea, etc. Not only am I saving money, I'm also helping the environment by not polluting the air with more exhaust emissions and using up petro. Also...helping out with all of those crowded highways and roads, one less car out there:cool:. I do use local merchants and farmer's markets for most of our grocery items and other locals, like the pharmacy and florists.

Love Ebay too....but you have to know your item, as the bargains there are not near like they used to be.

Yes, I save a boat load of money, for sure.

And, get this...couple of months ago I bought a backwash hose for my pool filter. Well, I ordered the wrong size and started the return process....
Amazon said "Hey, keep the hose (32 dollars) and, here, have your money back! You're an awesome customer!"

And last week I ordered a HDMI cable and when the package came it was some cream instead...same thing, refunded my money, let me keep the cream (I don't know what I'll use it for) AND gave me a 10 dollar gift cert.


Free shipping is a huge bonus and since I'm in Phoenix I can usually order something before 11am, choose 2 day shipping then end up getting the package by 5PM.
Super cool.

When I'm not so tired I will have to come back and set some people straight as to exactly what PAs are as I'm probably the one with the most experience here. Quibids is not a scam. Those are people who don't read the rules of the game and cry fowl play. I'm just too tired now to go into everything.

LOL Nancy....hmm...good point. :) That's why I like you so much...you always have the other side of the coin and something to consider. In all honesty, I can't answer that question because I haven't looked! I'm in the old house (alone and bored) at the moment. He's at the new house with the furbutts unpacking, while I'm here (supposed to be packing the computers up -ahem-)

I would be interested to know more, Nic. I'm not a big gambler but have won ebay auctions enough, I'm comfortable with bidding wars.

Sounds like a rip-off to me! Everyone that bids on a certain item loses any money they've bid. One lucky person wins the item for a cheap price, and everyone else gets taken for a ride. So if you bid all the time, you're basically just throwing money away, unless you get very lucky. Add up all the money you've wasted, and you are spending way more for that one item that you won. I'm sure it's fun if you have disposable income, but I for one can't afford to throw money after something that I may not get anyway. At least on Ebay, if you don't win the auction, it costs you nothing!

Honey, yes they do. They lay everything out and even give you tips on how to bid so you don't lose your butt. They don't want you to think you were scammed or you won't come back. You are correct in saying that they are making a lot of money. But you need to look at it like the lottery. We are all pooling our money together for one person to win....essentially everyone else's money (or in this case an item). Now, penny auctions are NOT for everyone by any means!!! I just made sure I did my research before I jumped in. You can lose a lot of money if you have compulsive tendencies!

Nancy, this is written by someone who is disgruntled. Yes, they charge you $60. Each bid costs 60 cent. As I stated before. One must read ALL rules before signed onto a venture like this. And yes, you can spend money and not win, just like gambling. Even though this is not considered online gambling. Which, I personally never understood. But, that's another discussion....
