| Carbon Monoxide Detectors have a finite life-need to be replaced. Just wanted to share this in case someone didn't know. I sure didn't. One of our Carbon Monoxide Detectors was chirping like it needed new batteries. It kept chirping after we replaced the batteries. Then I hear a public service announcement on the radio that says CO detectors need to replaced after several years since their sensors have a finite life. Some will tell you by chirping; others will not. It has been 7 years since we first bought ours. I think they were having a big push back then since they were changing the law in NYC.. Kidde detectors say to replace in 7 years on their data sheets and this one was a Kidde. Our other one is not. Bottom line, I am replacing both now. |

| They should be replaced every 5 years. Most boxes have a replacement recommendation on them. Some of them just need the sensor replaced, not the whole unit. Or you can go total electric and not have to worry about it
