| I like living in the suburbs, but close to a lot of different shops. I love my 1/3 acre lot and being able to walk to the grocery store, home improvement store, coffee shops, stores and clubs. I do not like the idea of not having a yard or having to maintain acres of land. I love where I'm at right now, but would love to live closer to a larger city to do more shopping

| I call myself the Country girl swagger with a little glitz and glamour. i was born and raised in a small town of 500 and am a true country girl at heart. i like to sew, cook, bake, garden, hunt and fish for food, camp and play guitar and sing country music. i'm a cowgirl without the ranch and horse. but i grew up with a taxidermist for a dad so hunting was huge in my family. i'm into camo and cowboys and westerns. i love that stuff. but i live right outside of KCMO and i love living in the burbs of a city. it's not a huge city like Chicago, which i also loved to visit for the shopping. my thing is i like being close to everything, but i hate being so close to other people. and i don't like traffic and ghettos and all the cruel and strange people around the cities. but i love the shopping, the designer accessories and clothes (don't own them just love them). i'm so practical and cheap from being raised in a poor country cabin family, but i like all the finer things like fancy meals and wines and fancy things. so i'm defin a country girl, who wears pearls and diamonds and lipstick and carries a Kathy bag and likes to look good in pretty feminie things with cowboy boots. i'm the leather and lace kinda girl. a little bit of everything. |

| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I am a total country girl! I hate, hate, HATE going into any big city. I hate all the noise, the smells, the traffic, the people sometimes. I just don't like it. But I was raised in the country and I think it is just my way of life. I am very quiet until you get to know me and pretty simple. I'm happiest with my quiet little life in the country, few neighbors, and land to roam free on. I went to NYC twice and hated it both times. I told my husband I never wanted to go back. I mean, I'm glad I got to go and see things, but I was ready to leave like after one day. I like DC for the sites to see, but definitely could not see myself living there. I guess I'm a country bumpkin! LOL

| Thor's Human Donating Member | City, all the way. I did get tired of New York when I lived there, but even after seven years, San Francisco feels like Amish country. Coffee places close at 8pm here. I don't even I realize I need coffee until 10pm! Come on!

| My mom always told me I was born in a barn. Been a cowgirl all my life. Kansas in general is pretty much in the country, but I am 30 minutes from anything I want in the bigger city, and KC, OKC, and and the Big D are all within a few hours drive.

| I love this thread, it is interesting to put a place and person in a mind picture. I am a small city lady. As a child I grew up in the country on a small farm. It was there that my love for nature, and animals took root. Imagine my shock when I went away to the big city and OSU. Campus life, people from all walks of life, strange ideas, music and life styles. Innocents and assumption of good vanished and sadly never returned. The Pill, make love not war, Vietnam and music at midnight. Big City Life wasn't right for me. When I married, we moved to his home town. A tiny place in rural Fl. I lived there for 26 years and raised my children , on a small farm. Now I live in the county seat Bartow, Fl. I love it ! I have a tiny 1940s cottage house, on a big double lot. I have sidewalks, a lovely park, library, civic center and lakes all within walking distance. I can stroll down town and browse the shops, admire the historical churches and homes. I can visit Stafford Inn Bed and Breakfast and have afternoon tea, stop by the court house, museum, postoffice, tailor and dry cleaner shop and day spa. I can chat with the vet, wave to my florist, get a hair cut, nails done and have an ice cream cone at an outside cafe. On weekends we have flea market and antique dealers set up. Art shows and other things always going on. The hospital and mall shopping is less than 5 miles away. I am proud of my little city, not only is it a great place to visit it is a great place to live.
