| Today might possibly be the worst day ever. Our office got broken into last night. We were there until 1:30 am working, and my husband met the crew at 7:30 and the front door glass had been shattered. They took our company truck, tools, and most importantly the laptop I have our quickbooks on-I back up our files, but they took the jump drive too. Ironically, the alarm company was coming today to install the alarm and cameras. they didn't steal any checks or credit card info, but my quickbooks had bank login info, so our accounts are flagged and frozen and passwords changed, but I still feel sick to my stomach, Ugh. I have to start over from scratch and try to piece together the files I have back into the computer. Payroll, employee info, customer info, checks, bills, change orders, all of it..... And payroll is due tomorrow. Rant over. Thanks for listening.

| I am so sorry. I have been there and done that. My house was broken into and credit card statements and bank statements taken. Along with other stuff. Had to put warnings on credit report, cancel cards and bank accounts, and totally put my life on hold. It just sucks. I am so sorry it happened to you. I hope they are able to catch them and justice will be served. I know have an amazing alarm system and it is worth every stinkin dime I paid for it. Be sure to get one put in as soon as you can. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

| Update We got a call that our truck was sitting in a parking lot of a body shop ( owner says it's been there all day and he had no idea who brought it). Dallas police met hubby and an employee over there to retrieve it. They dusted it for prints, and some of the tools were actually still in it. I was hoping we would find the laptop in it too but no such luck, maybe some of the prints will pan out. One good thing is that they left half of the laptop cord and my laptop battery won't stay charged for very long if it's not plugged in, so I am hoping against hope that it died on them and they are now locked out of it. I'm sad that the only pictures I had from my surrogacies were on it though. My mind is a whirl on where to begin with the accounting, I just don't know where to begin. Hubby is staying the night over there tonight with his gun because the door people had to order the glass and it won't be fixed til the morning, so right now it's plywood screwed into the metal frame. Even with the alarm, He's afraid they'll come back to finish taking the rest of the tools, and possibly try to take the truck again-they have keys. He has his shotgun and his handgun, and I am hoping and praying he doesn't have to use one. I really really hate thieves. I don't even feel safe at home right now, even though I am locked tight in my home with my alarm system on, I'm scared, and I hate that feeling.

| I'm sorry you all are having to go through this. Several years ago our home was broke into and the neighbors seen them breaking in with a crowbar. Called police and they were arrested and went to jail. Only got a hand slap and they tore the inside of the house up plus ruined our front door. But, like my husband says, the law is made for the thiefs not us. If you shoot them then its you that goes to jail because they have rights. RIght???? Nothing fare about it. Hope you can recover everything and I would really be careful. The police told us alot of times they come back. |

| Oh my gosh!!! I'm soooo sorry to hear this! That is like a worst nightmare! I hope things get straightened out quickly for you and you can get back on track! I would definitely still have the alarm/camera company coming out today!

| I'm SO sorry this happened to you If the computer dies is it then passworded to log back on? Here is a random thought. I have heard of cases where someone from within the alarm company themselves tips someone off that there is a business without cameras or alarms at ***** until Thursday noon..... Possible??

| wow.. I am so sorry. I am gald you guys are ok, at least you are safe and your family is safe and not hurt. Just take it one day at a time with the book keeping, it may not be as bad as you think when you get started. I have had issues like this and boy did I learn .. like Rhonda.. alarms, back ups etc. So don't be too hard on your self, it will pass.

And yes, it was password protected and the quickbooks is password protected as well, with a completely different password. Alarm is up and running, door is replaced and my daughters came and spent the day helping me get files ready for re-entering them into the computer. It will be a process, but definitely doable.
