The Huffington Post says drugs.......not surprising really, but still very sad. She was 27 years old.

Poor thing. I don't know much about her or her music but everytime I heard her name it seemed to be drug or alcohol related. She must have been in a lot of pain with no coping skills at all. It is so sad to see a young life snuffed out. I pray for her family and friends.

This absolutely breaks my heart. I know from personal experience how difficult this battle truly is. My heart goes out to her family and I hope this story saves another.

Isn't that the truth! Maybe someone out there or more than one will use her story to find a better way. I think that anyone who can climb out of the horror of whatever their personal hell is speaks such volumes about the spirit and ultimate strength of that person. Everyone that does it is to be commended for the rest of their lives as a true survivor and victor in life. Good for you, Karen, you made it! What a testimony to toughness.

I just read on Google that the young lady was only 27! That is such a great, great loss, whatever caused her death.

This is so sad, but was anyone really surprised. She was so talented but many times it comes from very deep seeded hurt and pain. Yet she could not cope.

They were talking on a program on TV about the "27 Curse", how many talented young celebrities die at that age.

They just mentioned that on the news...Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Curt Kobain and Amy Winehouse...all 27 when they died.

Did they all die from drugs too?? I was never a fan of Amy Winehouse, but it's still sad that she passed away...

I am pretty sure they all died of drug overdoses, but not 100% sure.

Curt Cobain committed suicide, I think Jim Morrison did too, and it's speculated that Jimi Hendrix was murdered but made to look like an overdose.

I think they did mention Jim Morrison. I thought that Curt Cobain committed suicide, but wasn't sure. I didn't google, just posted what they were saying on the news. They didn't give details of each death, just what a tragic loss of so much talent and at such a young age:(

Well Curt Cobain had previously failed committing suicide, it was initially written off as an OD, but later we were to find out he tried to kill himself. The other ones who OD'd in a way is like committing suicide too, right? They're both self destructive behavior.

I agree with that. I saw an article where people were betting on the date Amy Winehouse would actually succeed and die. What a waste!

I saw that too, that's so messed up. We all were thinking it was gonna happen but everyone wanted to see her come back better, it just never happened.

WOW!! They have a "club" for musicians who die at the age of 27...here's the list of the "club members". It is strange!!! I don't know any of the artists though...only Amy Winehouse and I only know her "Rehab" song...never a fan...and only heard about Jimi Hendrix, but never listened to his music...
