Bin Laden dead!!

I heard on Fox and CNN that interrogators got the good intel on an OBL courier from a detainee four or five years back once we got our intel community up to speed again, and since then they have all been working trying to tie all those bits of information from other detainees together about who that courier was and what he was up to now. Once they had some idea of the courier, the chase began as to where he and the other courier mentioned were and if they were still affiliated with OBL. Once they finally found them, they began tracing who owned their large property, who else lived there and then, what would be the best way to get that other person. What a tedious and mind-numbing amount of work had to have gone into finishing this puzzle piece by piece. Sounds like it all may have started with just that one little piece of information - a courier's nickname - years back. It will be interesting to see if that really is how the monster was found - a detainee who talked.

I think they had been watching this courier for a while and figured it out by watching/following "the courier".

Hahaha...I keep saying it just about every time! Honest mistake but still...lol. I heard Fox News originally reported "President Obama Killed!!!" Holy crap. He already HATES those people...how pissed is he now??

The more I learn about the crew that went in and sent him to hell, the more I love them. My DH's cousin is testing to get on that crew...has been since before this...and they are HARDCORE! Cuz is too...he's been SWCC for 8 years...but man. Their identities will never be revealed. They are top-secret and not allowed to discuss even with their wives what their job entails. I think that makes it so much more impressive. Cool stuff!

I saw this on the news last night and screamed! I didn't believe it was true right away... At that point, there wasn't anything online to confirm it.

In my opinion, I think everyone involved should get props for what they did. It does not matter if you disagree with the President's politics, he was part of the reason it happened. If you are going to use the President's birth name against him, you are ignorant and racist. This is a time for celebration and remembrance of the loss of the thousands of people lost on 9/11 and the soldiers lost in battle...

Hope this wasn't directed towards me... it's an honest slip up that can happen very easily, considering only one letter in his name is different than Osama's. I don't think Obama is anything like Osama obviously so it's not that I'm comparing them two as people or anything. I was just saying it's funny how the news stations have messed that up quite a few times today.... An easy mistake!!

Well to be honest, I had to catch myself as well. It is very easy as dumb as that sounds to mix the 2, not as people, but just the name, they are so close it is sick!

KSM (the mastermind for 9/11 who is in Gitmo) gave up the intel 4 or 5 years ago when they used "enhanced interrogation" techniques against him in a foreign country. The intel he supplied was then followed, matched up, and lead them to this point. My question is now what are those people who scream about "enhanced interrogation" not delivering worthy intelligence going to say...looks like the water just got let out of their bath tubs.

I think almost any American would have made the decision to send that team in after the world's number one madman with the intelligence and planning that was in place but I don't know that almost any American could or would have even tried to pull off the feat that our stealth team did!

I keep wondering if that Pakistani military academy was so close by, aside from the question why they didn't say anything about who lived in that compound, why didn't some of those guys run a mile down the road and try to stop our guys in the 40 or so minutes they were on the ground with helicopters all 'round? They had to have heard the choppers and all the gunfire! Were they unconcerned, told to stand down, too scared?

I did hear a couple of reports, Pakistan did scramble their fighter jets but it was too late. I'm thinking we will never know the truth from Pakistan and their role in allowing UBL to hide practically next door.

Now come on folk lets us be a little benevolent here regarding the Pakistani military base.
Surely you all understand that they were all far too busy training soldiers to be able to spot such a well known person living on their doorstep.
They would never know that the man was counting the soldiers so he would know how many more he had to kill would they.
The fact the US Intelligence "forgot" to tell the Pakistani government is understandable as they were so busy planning things it was nothing at all more than that. Surely, nobody would dream of thinking they did not trust the Pakistani's, that would be unthinkable huh ?????
The fact that every other attempt to capture that lump of human waste where the Pakistani government were informed proved fruitless is just a sheer coincidence nothing more.

I just can not understand how people can be so suspicious.......yer right....

An expected reaction with the jets but the military academy only feet away just sits there and does nothing?
