Please wish me luck! I have an interview on friday for a job that is 2.5 miles from my house. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I really need to get out of my company. I think we are going to have more layoffs soon. I am not afraid to get laid off but its so bad here I watch others terrified of it. It makes me sad. I just want to get out, and maybe that will spare someone else's job. I am tired of my commute and tired of being shoved where they need me, taking paycuts and not getting any sort of raise at all. 4 years with no raise and over 3 years with paycuts. With a 40 mile each way commute and almost $4 a gallon in gas, its just not working for me anymore. Please I NEED everyone's prayers and wishes for good luck! I really need this job! :) :D |

Well, I am praying for both of you to get your jobs. A job 2.5 miles from one's home is a dream location and sounds really perfect as far as so much less in travel time, expense and frustration and will add so much to your quality of life with all that time on the road spent home with your baby, shopping, kicking back and reading. Plus, you will likely be more appreciated as most jobs closer to home are in smaller communities that are hungry for experienced and smart workers. I pray you just knock their socks off when they speak with you. And the job working with dogs - dreamy! Please let us know the outcomes. |

My interview was confirmed for Monday at 9am. Pllllleeaasseeee keep me in your prayers then! I got all the paperwork today about background checks, benefit information, formal application process and my interview schedule. I am sooo nervous and excited! Sooo.. I never mentioned the best part of my phone call with this company earlier this week. I did my initial phone screening with this woman whose name was very familiar to me. When we started talking she said she knew my name too but couldn't place me yet. She started going over my resume and she stopped suddenly and said "I DO remember you... I placed you at xxx (former job)! I used to work for XXX staffing and I remember placing you in that job." This is going back about 9 years ago!! And she remembered me! Very exciting! I am using her name as a person I know in the company along with another man whom my boyfriend knows pretty well who works there. |
