Ya for sure, when I went on his bike before I was a little younger lol it changes when you get older, thats for sure! He doesn't ride like he use to, he is older as well and I told him I need him and Pnut and our neice Lilah!! When he does he will gear up in a full racing suit, that makes me feel better!! |
4 Attachment(s) Here is Me, My wonderful Dh and his old dog Maximus, and my sweet little niece Lilah, she was 6 months here, she is 10 months now! She is getting so big!! I love her to death! |

That's great your husband has a full racing suit! I can't believe the people who ride around wearing barely anything. It's law to have a full helmet here, but I would not ride without my boots, jeans, jacket, and gloves. ONE TIME at an older house, I was just parking in the back of the house from the front, and I rode down the street, and back up the alley wearing just my helmet and gloves, and otherwise just a tank top, jeans, and running shoes, and I felt naked, like it just wasn't right and like something was going to come up and hit me and I'd lose my skin. |

He likes to wear the suit when he goes to the track or when he goes up in the mountains to ride, he goes pretty fast up there so I am glad he is protected, he also has the best of the best helmets and gloves, and boots, I don't say a word when he wants to buy 400$ gloves bc I know he is protected!! :D I honestly don't want to ride with him, unless I get a pair of leathers!! He paid a lot for them, like 4 grand they are real racing leathers too they are pretty neat looking but that is too much to spend for me, so I let him have his fun!! I did try them on my time lol they are really comfy! The more clothes you wear the better!! Just protect yourself you can get a good pair of leathers for like 300 that will do the trick, but you are going to sell your bike so you shouldn't have to worry! |

3 Attachment(s) Great Thread. My name is Lissette I am 52 Lost my mother from Breast Cancer in 1980 and became a walking dead zombie. Married a college friend despite what my father and brother warned me against. Married to him for 7 years. Have 2 daughters from this marriage. I endured lots of Physical and emotional abuse from my ex, including black eyes bruses and fractured ribs. Finally got strong, grabbed a credit card and my daughters went to a divorce lawyer and a womens shelter. Two years later met the man of my dreams, David. We have a very balanced and stong relationship. I am the fun loving airhead and he is solid as a rock conservative. lol. We have another daughter and have been married now for 18 years. I feel everything in life will make you a stronger person. Everyday I wake up and thank God for this precious life he gave me. I found my Zest in life! I started showing Yorkies almost one year ago. I also have a wonderful Yorkie mentor who is 83 and her husband is 92. Every Sunday and Monday I clean her kennel and groom her dogs. She has taught me so much including patients. She sits ringside when I am showing and tells me how to improve. She has been an Yorkshire Exhibitor since 1970 and knows everyone. She is one of my best friends. My other best friend is in California, Mardelin. Mary has more passion for this breed than anyone I have ever met. I have learned so much from her too. Here are some pictures of me and my family! I'm just loving this thread. Everyone's life experiences are so varied, yet there is so much commonality too. |
1 Attachment(s) Lissette, which one are you in the picture? You all look terrific. I agree with you about Mary and the young lady in TX who is mentoring you. She rocks. |

I am the fun loving airhead (Let me add to this description) Lissette is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. She's happy, sincere, giving and kind! ♥ |
1 Attachment(s) I'll post a pic since every one else is too. :) This is my boyfriend and me at a party. I've been around here for a couple years but I mostly just read. I'm trying to post more in more threads. :p |
One thing for sure, we are all common denominators that share this wonderful planet and breath the same air. Even though life has taken us through different journeys, we all share the love of this breed. :) |

I like this thread! Very interesting reading about everybody's life. Well, my name is Brittany and I am 20 years old. I was born in Annapolis, MD and have lived in the surrounding cities of it my whole life but I want to move to South or North Carolina in the near future. I am currently enrolled in community college and close to an associates degree, but not quite there yet. I've been through a lot in my life, but I tend to think of myself as a strong, mature person capable of handling it. My 5 year old brother died in 2006 a few months shy of my 16th birthday (and a few weeks shy of his 6th) and that was clearly the hardest struggle I've dealt with so far. I was really close to him and got depressed for a while... I got Jackson a few months after my 18th birthday and he changed my world. :) I don't know what I'd do without him. I have an amazing father, who got re-married semi-recently but has been with his wife for the past 10yrs. She has a daughter, therefore I have a step-sister who I am not close to in any way whatsoever. I'm a daddys girl. I have a mom who is 100% opposite of me but I love her anyways. She is married to my step-dad but their marriage has been on the rocks for a long time now. She's made a lot of mistakes that have affected my life, but I forgive her, and I wouldn't be the same person w/o experiencing them. I have 3 amazing siblings... Connor (RIP - 2000-2006), Camron (7yrs old) and Emma (3yrs old). They are my world! Family in general is super dysfunctional, but we are pretty close, in our own way. I do, however, have an AMAZING "second family" who I love VERY dearly... they sort of adopted me as their own. I'm a tomboy, I love wearing my hoodies and my jeans. :) I've always been that way. Was into sports as a kid, softball, basketball and tennis specifically. I always was a dog freak, I was the kid who had the dog breed info books, who wanted to go into Petsmart instead of the clothing stores, and had every dog action figure/toy/movie ever created, LOL. I enjoy going to the movies, having good conversation (and debates! ;)), going camping, traveling (I've been to a lot of places already!), I like walking, going to the beach, hanging with my pooch, dog training is a huge passion of mine... I dunno, I can't think of what else to add. |
*My name is Connie *I'm going to be 57 in July *I've been married to Robin (the Best Guy in the World) for 25 yrs *I have 2 wonderful children: Michael 34 (from my 1st marriage) and Carly who is 23 (from this marriage) Neither one is married yet :( *I don't think about it much but I had breast cancer 7 yrs ago and I'm still around :) *I have 3 Yorkies who I love immensely: Mia, Max & Moe *Hubby, kids and I were born and raised in the Midwest but moved out here to help my aging parents about 13 yrs ago *My StepDad passed away several years ago *My Mom was diagnosed with dementia this past summer *Hubby has a Harley but hasn't had time to ride it too much lately *I love music, dancing, movies, and shopping (just to name a few) |
2 Attachment(s) HI! I love this thread! I love the pics. Linz I can see why you LOVE your house, it's GORGEOUS, unique and individual, it has personality! I love it too! Everyone's pictures are so great! I love seeing the family love you all have! I love how the pups are part of the family too! Well I'm Christina, I'm 34. I have lived in either MA or NH for most of my life. But I have traveled a bit. My favorite place in the world is Hawaii. I could easily see myself living there! I love warm weather and sunshine, I hate winter but I'd rather have a blizzard then a windy day! haha My mom and her husband moved to New Mexico about 4 years ago and although I miss them I admire them for just moving away so far and making a new life for themselves. They knew noone there, they picked it because his job offered him a promotion there. He took it and they have not looked back! I have 2 younger brothers, one 33 and one 29. The 33 year old is married with 1 little boy and another on the way very soon. My other brother is in the air force (a lifer - we are so proud of him) he is married also. He has been to Iraq 2x for a year each time and he got a bronze star for his 2nd tour. :) <3 I am a very independent girl. I was in a relationship for 10 years and owned a house and was engaged to the idiot. He broke it off saying he was not ready to get married when I was 28 and he 31. It was a HARD couple years after that. I was heartbroken. I am now in a good relationship with a great guy who is 8 years older than me and has 2 kids. (who nuther story there) They are older. He is not sure about having anymore children and now that I am 34 and kind of settled in my life I am not sure I even want children. I don't think I'm patient and warm enough for them. Who knows what the future might hold though. My 2 Yorkies seem to be my children and I love them to pieces. I have the BIGGEST bunny ever, her name is Lyra, she is part Flemish Giant and part Giant Angora. Ive almost always owned bunnies in my life. I love them, they are such cool pets. Most of mine have been indoor rabbits. I had one that learned from my old roommates cat how to use a liter box. haha I own my own townhouse, which I am very proud of because after my break up with my ex fiance instead of collapsing, I sold my house that I owned with him and bought my own townhouse and kept it for over 5 years so far on my own. I did rent it out recently when I moved in with my boyfriend of almost 3.5 years. He owns a house with and inground pool!!! Im ok with that! :) I work in the IT field for a local newspaper and am currently searching for a job closer to home. I commute almost 40 miles each way to work and I hate my job which is like a slap in the face each day that I face that kind of commute to go somewhere I hate. I dropped out of college when I was 23 and went back nights occasionally and finally when I was 33 I graduated with my BSBA. I LOVE LOVE LOVE trying new foods, but not meats. I stick with the basics there. I love coffee. I love my car (nothing fancy but to me it is. 07 Honda Accord fully loaded) its fast and fun and has all these cool things in it! I used to be a certified tanning technician until tanning went out of style. lol Im addicted to sugar! BAD! Oh and I ride a motorcycle too! Love the freedom of the open road! This is probably information overload... I can hear you guys screaming TMI! TMI! TMI! hahaha I'll end this with a pic of My bro his wife me and my BF (in that order) and one of my HUGE bunny! |

Im Denise, Thought that I would join in with the rest of the Tx ladies. 52yrs old, celebrated our 31st anniv last Monday. 6 people puppies (3 of each) mostly grown. I drive an 03 Stang (the car that I have always wanted) We ride 2up on a 93 Harley (If I had my own bike I would never be home) I sew alot ,did I mention that I sew alot! Until recently we had 6 furbabies,my precious Bunkey passed away recently and that is how I ended up on YT. Hobbies would be singing anywhere anytime, yes even in the mall with my daughters. Dancing any kind! Oh and I love sewing,Bunkey had quite a wardrobe that I gave to a friend. My kids wont let me sew for them anymore. The girls say that they are to old for smocked dresses, probably right sense they are grown. My other love (besides the dogs, kids and hubby) would be vintage sewing machines. So I am a mommy in waiting for a new baby. I have enjoyed YT and learned alot. |
My name is Jackie and my husband is a wonderful man who bought us our first yorkie almost 20 years ago. I am a semi retired director of marketing and now stay home with our little Sophie. I also help take care of my in-laws, who are in their 80's, so they can stay in their own home as long as possible. I am blessed with two sons, one 27 who takes his clinical boards tomorrow to become a doctor. His wife just graduated medical school and is expecting our first grandchild this month. Our second son is single, 25 and serves in the U.S. Navy on a submarine. He will likely make it his career. We love to travel. My husband (did I tell you he's wonderful?, lol,) has taken me to Jamaica every winter for the last sixteen years to celebrate our anniversary and escape the Michigan cold weather. I love to travel, swim, sail and love animals, especially yorkies. I have become a YT addict ;) I admire hardwork, honesty and compassion for others. I thank God every day for all my blessings. |
I am so happy that you guys like this thread, I knew some of you would, but I didn't want you guys to think I was nosy! |

I am 40ish:cool: I am the mother of an almost 21 year old daughter. I am a widow but have been in a long term relationship for 10 years. I am an artist and activist. I work on animal ethics issues as well as anti racism and anti domestic violence issues. I am a facilitator for a group called Conversations on Race. My artwork centers around animals and my most current work is dealing with animal ethics and the effects of agrifarming. I have also been focusing on the intersection of feminism and animal ethics as they both deal with issues of power and control. I am a vegetarian. I am currently a full time graduate student working on my MFA. I teach painting in my studio and in 3 area art schools. I love all animals but have a special place in my heart for dogs. |
