I had to run to the little girl's room after reading about your shower checking! Of course I double looked for the "toilet snake" before I sat down ! Sorry, that was too cute-I've checked behind my shower curtains too (shhh sometimes I leave them pulled open just because)...to be fair we have windows above the shower and I saw the unsolved mysteries where some guy slid in the lady's mini shower window...which is my issue... Even when I've been home alone all day and I didn't open any windows, before I leave I have to go through the house checking to make sure all the windows are closed, the sticks are in their places, and they are locked......stove checked next, then the heater tempt...I'm out the door... Then, I know I just put the key in, I know I just turned the key and locked the door, I heard it lock, I saw myself do it...I'm still going to take my key out and push the button and push and shake the door to be sure it is locked... |
For me... it is public door knobs and handles. I refuse to touch them and usually use my jacket or my foot to grab it or kick it open. The idea of touching them......ewwww grosses me out! |

Ever since I was little, I couldn't do something as simple as turning a Barbie's head around, without turning it back to the original position. I couldn't turn it around twice one way, and back once to the same position... it would have to go back around twice so it's exactly where it started. Even now with clocks or watches, if I change the time, I can't go one whole turn around. I need to go just a little ahead or a little backwards but if I start going the wrong way and realize it has to go all the way around... I can't do it. |

i have OCD to where it actually controls some of my behaviors and i have compulsions. one of them is taking a really long time in the restroom. i always feel like i have to go a little more when i really don't need to. i use a lot of TP in trying to finish up and leave the stall but my mind is like chaining me there. sometimes i feel like the only one, but i'm not others have these issues too. i've worked really hard and am doing better than before, but it's still an everyday struggle and probably always will be. |

I have no weird compulsive habits that I can think of. Unless you call no matter how tired I am, how much wine Ive consumed or how late it is. I cannot fall asleep unless Ive brushed my teeth first. It's a MUST. And in the summer when I wear flip flops all day, I MUST wash my feet before bed. The thought of going to bed with dirty feet GROSSES me out!!! LOL My friends find that habit hysterical! BF not so much when he has to wash his feet before getting into our clean bed! |

Oh thank god for this thread...my husband thinks i'm a lunatic with some of my OCD things. Before i leave the house i always have to check the stove, even if i know i didnt use it. AND i run upstairs to make sure the hair straightener is off...cord is OUT of the wall and placed exactly so in the same position everyday! Also, i'm another one that checks her credit card placement in my wallet A LOT!! And before bed i have to go to all the doors and make sure they are locked. Sometimes i know they are locked...but have to stand there a few minutes and stare at it to make sure....i think a lot of it for me is a visual thing! You should see when i go on vacation..holy crap..i have a list of things to check before i leave the house and i cross them off with a pen after i do them. I'm so glad i'm not the only nutjob on here lol |

I think my bf wishes I was OCD with the things you girls are! LOL I have gone to bed with doors WIDE open, never mind just unlocked. I have left the house and forgotten to shut the garage door numerous times. I never check the stove and have left it on for hours on end a few times, same with the oven. I leave lights on all over the place, and I never shut my closet door, which he HATES and always does it every night. I am OCD about the mail though. I hate piles of it. Each day I get it, check it, keep the good, throw the junk and be done with it. He piles it up on the kitchen counter for a week or more into a huge stack, then he'll separate the stack into 5 stacks and soon the whole counter is covered in stacks of mail and he walks away. Makes me MENTAL! I always have to go through the mail and get rid of it! |
