| Sailboat and Valentine's Day Hubby informed me yesterday of the "Surprise" he has planned for Valentine's day. We're taking a sunset cruise on the Gulf of Mexico on a SAILBOAT!!! I'm dealthy afraid of sailboats...cause they look so tippy! It's really the only kind of boat that scares me. I love the fact that he always thinks of new things to do AND he knows i love taking Pasquale with me as much as I can...so of course the cruise is PET-FRIENDLY!! But i'm not sure if i want to take Pasquale with us cause i dont want him picking up on MY fear. (sigh) I dont know what to do. Here's the website just in case anyone ever wants to do a pet friendly cruise and isnt afraid of sailboats lol Ft. Myers Beach Day Sails - February

| What a nice surprise! I'm with ya, I FEAR sailboats and alligators!!! I live in FL and DO NOT GO INTO OUR LAKES or SPRINGS AT ALL!! We are in a boat every weekend during the summer...I wouldn't take my pup's for the same exact reason you said. I hope you make the best of it and try to enjoy it

| Have a few drinks, put Pasquale on a leash at all times and ENJOY it!!! We are buried under 3 feet of snow here and I would go on a dingy in the ocean right now if it meant warm weather!!! Thats very sweet of your husband though!!!

| Is your impression of them being "tippy" due to seeing some boats tack and reeeaaally lean over in the water?? If so, this is unlikely to happen on this boat - particularly with this type of social / charter cruise. They won't be doing any extreme maneuvering. It will be a fairly calm experience, I'd suspect. Plus, based on the link its a 58 foot boat, accommodating over 30 people. As a result the deck area will be large. By finding a location to stand / sit / hang out toward the interior of the deck (away from the sides) you will further "stabilize" your ride. Go, have fun and take the fur butt!! He'll love it, and it may relax you (you'll spend more time thinking about him than the boat) |

| Ha! Thanks for the link... but I was going to cast away on your ride! (JK) Sailboats with keels (the long thingy under that sticks down into the water) have about .5 - 3 tons of weight in the keel. If a wind comes along big enough to blow the boat over, 99.9% will right themselves.... safest boat to be on... wear a life preserver though... and relax, have fun!

| You are going to love it. Take some Dramamine prior to getting on the boat. Relax, and have a great time! Now, after the boat ride, as a special surprise for your husband, you should plan a trip to TX and take him Hog Hunting. |
