No snow here - although I did see snow in (I think it was) 1976, but it didn't stay. We do get tornadoes and hurricanes.
We do get several days warnings on the hurricanes so we can evacuate.
Our house was damaged in 2004 by two hurricanes, one after the other.
I wanted to remodel anyway - and so the insurance helped out:)

Both?! :eek: Wow that has to stink! Do you leave when they tell you to evacuate? I have heard of so many that "ride it out". That is crazy!

Pretty scary here right now. I m trying to keep on top of the snow. So far I have done the driveway and walkways twice and will go out again in a little bit. They say we could get 24+ inches. I remember the winter storm of '67. We had a couple of snow days and you couldn't get down the streets for days. Hope this one isn't that bad.

School out again tomorrow! My road is very slick. My husband said a car slid off into the ditch. I don't get out when it is like this. As a matter of fact, I still have on my PJ bottoms!! :D

So far we've dodged the bullett. but tonight is blizzard warning 24-30 cm in next 24 hrs.
Our household plans to snuggle in tomorrow, work from home. I've stocked up a bit on food, and the generator is primed and ready to go in case of power outages.

Planning on a good midweek dinner. Maybe even make a dessert too....

we got around 7 more inches of snow today and tomorrow we are going to get more snow with sleet or ice later on. :snow:

I am really tired of all this snow. Mother Nature has really been giving it to us. We have mountains of snow and the plows have no where to put it. So now our two lane road has turned into a one lane road with about 6 feet of snow piled up on each side. Enough already.

Our schools are closed again tomorrow . . .and get this one . . .they want Clerical to report at 10am . . .:thumbdown Seriously, if this ice storm happens, I'm pretty sure I won't be skating into work . . .really, close school due to icy roads, yet us lowly clerical have to risk our lives getting there? Something is just wrong with that . . .:mad:

Why would they want you to show up? I am a teacher and I have never heard of our school calling in ANYONE. That don't make sense. I guess it is because you get paid so much! Not! The school clerical is the MOST underpaid people ever!

Oh Im here at work... yet again, another day of driving in CRAZY weather! aaarrrgggg I HATE my company! Whats worse is that I come in to do nothing ... I have no projects to work on and I chat on facebook or here or read my nookbook on the PC. Sooooo frustrating!!!! :(
We got 7 inches yesterday and today we'll get 10 more minimum with sleet and ice on top of that. It should end by 6pm... thank goodness I get out at 5pm! My boss came down today and said "its nice when people who shouldn't be driving are not on the roads, that way we can all have an easier drive!" I'm like "UMMMM so who do you classify as SHOULDN'T be driving?" IDIOT!

We got hit with this Ice Storm overnight in NYC. What a mess. The mayor did not close the schools which i think was a real bad move. Now it is raining and tonight it is supposed to get cold again (a steamy 32 right now) and everything freeze again. Saturday they are predicting another snow/ice event!!!!!!!!!:mad: I did hear that the groundhoung is predicting an eary spring!!:rolleyes:
Be careful out there you guys!

The science teacher told me that the persimmon tree had spoons. Which means LOTS of snow this year! So far, I think she may have been right!

Just woke up to find 3 inches of snow on the ground. Time to get out the long johns and head to work...:(

3 inches is nothing more than a light dusting here, but I know you guys have a hard time driving when it is dry out! Be careful out there. It is always more dangerous making the drive to Corsicana than it is hunting the hogs with a knife.

Oh my goodness! That is terrible!

We got more snow today. Arrived at school at 7:20. They sent us home at 8:45. Another day to make up. :(

I wish we had 3 inches of snow. As it is, I don't think I'll see the ground again until July. I thought we got 16 inches, but the weather service released the totals for all of the towns in the county and listed it at 20 inches. Of course, that isn't counting the huge drifts! We got a quarter-inch this evening. Supposed to have more snow Sunday and more around Wed-Thurs. Come on up and have some fun! Most of the schools up here haven't been open since Monday.

Maybe they need to check into the legality of that, before they enforce it.:D
