I'd not like to be one of the judges this year. All 13 are truly amazing and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the all didn't get a record contract. My favorite singer singer of all time is Seline Dion, and when Pia Toscano sang one of her songs, she blew it out of the park. I've heard other gals try and take on a Seline song, and failed. Pia is truly amazing. I love a lot of country western songs, and I have to say I'm in complete agreement with Randy when he said last week that Scotty McCreery was born to sing country. He may win, but even if he doesn't, he has a bright future ahead of him and we will see a lot of him in the future. I think Jacob Lusk is another born to sing guy. Wow, what a strong voice. Wish he was in our church choir. He's another very strong contender to win I think! Lauren Alaina has such a great voice for a 16 year old, but even though she's worthy of a recording contract, I don't think she will win this competition but I do think she will be offered a record deal. I wish Haley Reinhart had picked a different song other than a Leann Ryme's song because she's been practicing those all her life. She even learned to yodel like Leann. She's good, but not unique. The one guy who stands out as a true performer, whether on a broadway stage, comedian in a sitcom, or singer, is Casey Abrams. He's a natural and the only thing he needs to hone, is to smile and be more extraverted. But then that comes with being more worldly I suppose. James Durbin is a true rocker and his voice range is awesome. He may get all the way up to the last 6, but don't think he will win even though rockers seem to be a big favorite with the young folks. I was disappointed with Paul McDonald last night. He just may not make it to the next round because of that even though the judges were trying hard to let everyone know that he has to potential to go far. Thia Megia has the most beautiful voice, and could easily work in animations, including Disney. I don't think she will make it thru. this time, but I'm sure she will be picked up by one of the movie moguls. Stefano Langone sure surprised me last night. He was great! Glad he was one of the wild cards. It's going to be very interesting to see how far he can go now. I don't think Naima Adedapo will be put thru. but I sure hope she doesn't have to go back to work cleaning toilets. She's good, and deserves a break. Ashthon Jones won't get much further because she isn't consistent. Last night she may have been very nervous because a lot was expected of her and Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Record Label, was sitting right up front. She tries to look and sing like Diana Ross, and she did till last night. Poor girl, you could tell she was not happy with herself. Karen Rodriquez is really very good, but I don't think she's going much further now. Some of these kids definitely have stage presence and some don't even if they do have really good voices. Tonight is going to be interesting. |
Pia is definitely my favorite and I will be shocked if she doesn't win the whole thing. I voted for Scotty, James, Jacob, Haley, Pia and Casey. I like the other people but I won't care if they leave either. I was disappointed w/ Karen. I like her a lot but she wasn't great last night. Looking forward to tonight, hopefully there aren't any upsets! |

I was probably most surprised by James Durban this week, I was in the other room when he was singing, and I had to run to see who that was, I was so shocked to see James doing this song, it really showed a whole other side to him. |

Agree, agree, agree  James showed that he can do higher and softer notes with his voice last night. I think America needed to see that from him! It's all about the guys for me this year. Casey, Paul, Jacob, and James are my favorites! |
I fast forwarded to the end last night so I could go to bed so I saw who left but who was sick and in the hospital. Casey? |

'A.I.' Contestant Casey Abrams Hospitalized -- Still in Jeopardy | TMZ.com I pray he makes a speedy recovery. I was surprised that Ashton was eliminated. I really liked her. |

Does anyone else think they way Ryan breaks the news to contestants, is mean? I noticed it last year, and I was hoping this year it would be better. It doesn't add to the suspense, it's just so unconfortable to watch. On the last show, when the three female contestants were standing he said, said, All of you are safe" and then added "except for . . . " It was like the girl was feeling great before he smashed her to the floor. On a positive note, it was great seeing Adam again. |
I haven't watched the elimation yet but YAH! I'm glad Ashton went home! She was terrible Tuesday! I love James, Lauren and Pia and Haley and Scotty! Those are my favs! Donna |

I've got two negative things to say about last night..... PITCHY PITCHY PITCHY And what was Casey thinking????? How many voters are going to be into grunge? I hope he gets a sympathy vote from being sick. I really love him! My vote goes to Stefano again. His singing actually brought tears to my eyes around about the middle! Lauren sang beautifully too but Randy was right - her song choices are kind of boring. |
I thought Pia was good but she always is :) |
